Enathu Bridge
Enathu Bridge is one of the main bridges in Main Central Road. It is situated in Enathu, Kerala and is connecting Kollam district with Pathanamthitta district. It is constructed in latest form in 2017 over Kallada River. History The first bridge in Enathu was built by British in early 1903. In 1980's this bridge was found old and unsafe for traffic and a new concrete bridge was built during Third Nayanar ministry when P. J. Joseph was the PWD minister in 1998. In January 2017 when cracks detected on this bridge and it was closed for maintenance. On August 31, 2017 the bridge reopened for public transport. During the re-construction of the bridge, Indian Army had set up a Bailey bridge in Enathu to facilitate transportation between Adoor and Kottarakkara. Chamravattom Regulator-cum-Bridge
The Chamravattam Regulator-cum-Bridge, also known as Chamravattam Palam or Chamravattam Bridge, Chamravattam RcB, or Chamravattam Project, is built across the Bharathapuzha aka Nila near Chamravattam, Triprangode, in Malappuram district. This seems to be the largest of its type in Kerala, India. The bridge has length and width. It connects Ponnani and Tirur. Regulator cum bridge is now just working as a bridge due to faulty design as per the conclusion in the detailed technical investigation report done by the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi on the directions of the Government of Kerala. There is also a false allegation that sand for construction was taken from river without payment for the same though the sand was paid for by the contractors at prices fixed by the Government of Kerala. Goshree Bridges
Gosree bridges is a system of three bridges that link the mainland side of the city of Kochi to the islands lying to the north of the backwaters. It provides the vital road connectivity to the islands of Bolgatty and Vallarpadam and also links the western island of Vypin to the mainland. The bridges start from the northern end of Marine Drive between High Court and Pachalam. The bridges were constructed under the supervision of the Goshree Islands Development Authority (GIDA), constituted by the Government of Kerala. The first bridge was opened in December 2003. All three bridges were formally opened on 5 June 2004. History The Goshree bridges project took concrete shape after the formation of the Goshree Islands Development Authority in 1994. Palarivattom Flyover Scam
Palarivattom Flyover is considered to be one of the most notorious scams in the history of Kerala Public Works Department. The scam exposed the alleged nexus between politicians, bureaucracy and contractors. History Palarivattom flyover is a poorly built infrastructure project at the Pipeline Junction in the National Highway 66 (India), National Highway 66 Bypass in Kochi. The flyover was later shut down in May 2019, just three years after its commissioning, following the development of cracks on the structure. The cracks on pier caps of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 7th, 10th and 12th pillars of the flyover were reported.
