Emre Ünver
Emre Ünver (born 19 November 1981) is a Dutch politician. He was a member of the House of Representatives for the Labour Party from 14 December 2016 until 15 February 2017, replacing Sjoera Dikkers. Ünver was a member of the municipal council of Amsterdam from 11 March 2006 until 2018 and served as party vice-councilchairman. Since May 2018 he has been President of the board of the borough of Amsterdam Nieuw-West. The House of Representatives (, pronounced ; commonly referred to as the ', literally "Second Chamber of the States General") is the lower house of the bicameral parliament of the Netherlands, the States General, the other one being the Senate. It has 150 seats, which are filled through elections using party-list proportional representation. Generally, the house is located in the Binnenhof in The Hague, however, it has temporarily moved to the former building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at Bezuidenhoutseweg 67 in the Hague while the Binnenhof is being renovated. The Labour Party ( nl, Partij van de Arbeid, , abbreviated as ''PvdA'', or ''P van de A'', ) is a social-democratic political party in the Netherlands. The party was founded in 1946 as a merger of the Social Democratic Workers' Party, the Free-thinking Democratic League and the Christian Democratic Union. Sjoerdtje Willemien (Sjoera) Dikkers (born 14 July 1969 in Deventer) is a Dutch former politician and activist. As a member of the Labour Party (Partij van de Arbeid) she was an MP between 17 June 2010 and 23 March 2017. She focused on matters of development aid and commercial policy. Amsterdam Nieuw-West () is a borough ( Dutch: ''stadsdeel'') comprising the westernmost neighbourhoods of the city of Amsterdam, Netherlands. It was created in 2010 after a merger of the former boroughs Osdorp, Geuzenveld-Slotermeer and Slotervaart. In 2017, the borough had almost 150,000 inhabitants. ''Het Parool'' () is an Amsterdam-based daily newspaper. It was first published on 10 February 1941 as a resistance paper during the German occupation of the Netherlands (1940–1945). In English, its name means ''The Password'' or ''The Motto''. History Second World War The paper was preceded by a stenciled newsletter which was started in May 1940 by Frans Goedhart.
