Emmalin Celina Pierre (born 23 August 1975) is a Grenadian politician who has been leader of the New National Party (Grenada), New National Party since 2024 and a member of the Parliament of Grenada, Grenadian parliament since 2003, first serving in the Senate (Grenada), Senate before being elected to the House of Representatives (Grenada), House of Representatives in 2013 Grenadian general election, 2013. She has previously served as Minister for Education, Human Resource Development, Religious Affairs, and Information. Born in Birchgrove, Saint Andrew Parish, Grenada, St. Andrew's, She studied at Edinburgh Napier University earning a master's degree in business administration and is currently pursuing doctoral studies at Walden University. The National Democratic Congress (NDC), also known as the National Democratic Congress of Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique, is a social democratic and centre-left political party in Grenada. 2008 Grenadian General Election
General elections were held in Grenada on 8 July 2008. Out of a total of fifteen seats, the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) won eleven seats and the governing New National Party (NNP) won four, bringing the NDC to power for the first time since 1995. Together with the lower chamber, the House of Representatives, it meets in the New Houses of Parliament in the capital St. George's. The President of the Senate is Senator the Hon.
