Emma Langley
Emma Langley (born 23 November 1995) is an American professional road racing cyclist who currently rides for UCI Women's WorldTeam . Langley was born in England, and lived during her childhood in Saudi Arabia, South Africa, and Sweden, before moving to the United States. After competing in swimming and triathlons, she began competing predominantly in cycling, including a collegiate career at the College of William & Mary. After a seventh-place finish in the 2019 United States National Road Race Championships as an unaffiliated rider, she signed with EF Education–Tibco–SVB. Langley began her professional racing career with EF Education–Tibco–SVB in 2021, where she scored two stage wins in the 2021 Joe Martin Stage Race, winning the mountains classification as well. Wollongong ( ), colloquially referred to as The Gong, is a city located in the Illawarra region of New South Wales, Australia. The Tour of the Gila is a cycling stage race for both men and women located in New Mexico, United States. It is sponsored by the component maker SRAM. The "Gila" began in 1987. Beginning in 2012, the men's Gila has been added to the UCI America Tour as a UCI classification 2.2 stage race, which permits UCI ProTeams to enter if they so choose; beginning in 2015, the women's Gila has also been added to the women's UCI international tour as a UCI classification 2.2 stage race. 2022 UCI Road World Championships
The 2022 UCI Road World Championships will be held from 18 to 25 September 2022 in Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia. In February 2022 the UCI announced that a Women's U23 category will be added to the road and time trial race. The title will be awarded from within the elite women’s event and a separate race will be added from 2025. On March 1 AusCycling announced that Russian and Belarusian teams will not be allowed to compete based on International Olympic Committee's recommendation on Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
