Emilio Sampere Oliveras (8 January 1885 – 4 December 1966) was a Spanish Association football, footballer, Referee (association football), referee and Manager (association football), manager. He was one of the most important figures in the amateur beginnings of RCD Espanyol as a player, Captain (association football), captain, club founder, manager, and director. Sampere played as a Forward (association football), forward during the 1900s, but then moved to the midfield in the 1910s. Catalan Football Championship
The Catalan football championship ''(Campionat de Catalunya)'' was a football competition in Catalonia and the first football league in Spain before La Liga was established in 1929. In December 1900, Alfons Macaya, the president of Hispania AC, offered a trophy (the Copa Macaya) to be contested by several football teams from Spain. The league was played between 1901 and 1940 and was cancelled in Francoist Spain after the Spanish Civil War. The Royal Spanish Football Federation (; RFEF) is the governing body of football in Spain. Prince Of Asturias Cup
The Prince of Asturias Cup (, ) was an inter-regional football competition contested by the regional selections of Spain – selections of players from clubs from the region in question, meaning that players did not need to be native to the region. The tournament was created in 1913 by the FECF (''Federación Española de Clubs de Football''), a forerunner of the RFEF, in honour of the donator of the trophy, don Alfonso, Prince of Asturias, the first-born son of King Alfonso XIII and Prince of Asturias. Juan Armet de Castellví, nicknamed "Kinké" (30 June 1895 in Terrassa – 5 October 1956 in Madrid) was a Spanish footballer who played as a forward, and later a coach. Club career Born in Terrassa, Catalonia, Kinké began to play football in 1911 with Universitary SC, featuring alongside the likes of Ricardo Zamora. After 5 seasons with the club, he joined Espanyol in 1916, with whom he played for one year. At the end of the season, he was transferred to Sevilla, with whom he played for the next ten seasons, retiring as a footballer in 1927 at the age of thirty-two. Francisco Armet de Castellví (5 November 1892 in Terrassa – 23 March 1973 in Madrid), nicknamed "Pakán", was a Spanish footballer who played as a defender. Club career Francisco Armet was born into a family of the Catalan aristocracy. Together with his younger brothers Juan and Jordi (both forwards), he formed one of the most outstanding lineages of footballers of the early 20th century in Catalonia. Francisco Bru
Francisco Bru Sanz (12 April 1885 – 10 June 1962), also known as Paco Bru, was a Spanish football player, referee and manager. As a footballer he played as a striker and midfielder for FC Internacional and as a defender for FC Barcelona, RCD Español and the Catalan XI. After retiring as a player, Bru became a referee and took charge of the 1916 and 1917 Copa del Rey finals. He later became the first ever manager of Spain, guiding them to the silver medal at the 1920 Olympic Games. José Irízar
José Marcelino Yrízar Urbizu (5 October 1882 - 23 March 1935), better known as José Irízar was a Spanish footballer who played as a defender for Athletic Club and FC Barcelona. Although he always appeared as Irizar in the sports press, on his baptismal and death certificates his surname is written with a y. Alfred Massana i Urgellés, also known as Alfredo Massana Urgellés (27 July 1891 – 24 March 1924), was a Spanish footballer who played as a midfielder for Espanyol and FC Barcelona. Santiago Massana Urgellés (5 June 1889 – Unknown), nicknamed Tiago, was a Spanish footballer who played as a defender. He was best known for his height, which he imposed on his opponents. His brother, Alfredo Massana, was also a footballer.
