Emilie Hesseldal
Emilie Sofie Hesseldal (born 21 December 1990) is a Danish professional basketball player and a member of the Danish national basketball team. She won the Danish championship in 2021 as a member of BMS Herlev Wolfpack and in 2022 as a member of AKS Falcon, being named the Finals MVP both years. During her career, she has won both the Danish Cup, in 2010 with Aabyhøj IF and 2022 with AKS Falcon, and the Icelandic Cup, in 2020 with Skallagrímur. A strong rebounder, Hesseldal has led the Danish Dameligaen, the Spanish Liga Feminina de Basquetebol and the Icelandic Úrvalsdeild kvenna in rebounds. Playing career First years (2006–2012) Hesseldal started her career with Aabyhøj IF in the Dameligaen during the 2006–2007 season. During her second season, she had broken into the starting lineup. Úrvalsdeild kvenna (English: Women's Premier League), known as Bónus deild kvenna for sponsorship reasons, is the highest basketball competition among women's clubs in Iceland. It is administered by the Körfuknattleikssamband Íslands, Icelandic Basketball Federation. It was founded in 1952 and, until 2007, it was known as 1. deild kvenna (English: Women's First division). The Kvindebasketligaen is the premier championship for women's basketball clubs in Denmark. It was created in 1971, and it is currently contested by eight teams. It was known as Dameligaen until 2021-2022 season. The champion qualifies for the next season's FIBA Eurocup. ''Morgunblaðið'' (, ''The Morning Paper'') is an Icelandic daily newspaper. ''Morgunblaðið''s website, mbl.is, is the most popular website in Iceland. It is currently the country's only daily printed newspaper and the newspaper of record. The Haukar women's basketball team, commonly known as Haukar (), is the women's basketball department of Knattspyrnufélagið Haukar multi-sport club, based in the town of Hafnarfjörður, Iceland. Recent history On 23 September 2021, Haukar became the first Icelandic women's basketball team to win in a continental competition when it defeated Clube União Sportiva, 81–76, in the first leg of the 2021–22 EuroCup Women qualifiers. Ulnar collateral ligament reconstruction, sometimes referred to as Tommy John surgery is a surgical graft procedure where the ulnar collateral ligament in the medial elbow is replaced with either a tendon from elsewhere in the patient's body, or with one from a deceased donor.
