Emiliano Pizzoli
Emiliano Pizzoli (born 29 June 1974 in Rieti) is a former Italian hurdler. Biography Emiliano Pizzoli won two medals, at senior level, at the International athletics competitions. He participated at one edition of the Summer Olympics (2000), he has 19 caps in national team from 1995 to 2008. His personal best time is 13.43 seconds, achieved in June 1998 in Milan. The Italian records currently belongs to Emanuele Abate with 13.28 seconds (outdoor) and 7.57 (indoor). He won the bronze medal at the 1997 Mediterranean Games. He also participated at the World Championships in 1999, the World Indoor Championships in 1999 and 2001 and the 2000 Olympic Games without reaching the final. 1999 IAAF World Indoor Championships
The 7th IAAF World Indoor Championships in Athletics were held in the Green Dome Maebashi stadium in Maebashi, Japan from March 5 to March 7, 1999. It was the first time the Championships were staged outside Europe or North America. Primo Nebiolo, president of the IAAF, characterized the championships as "the greatest ever". There were a total number of 487 participating athletes from 115 countries. Doping disqualifications Four medalists were disqualified for doping; Rostislav Dimitrov of Bulgaria was stripped of the triple jump silver, Inger Miller of the USA was stripped of the 60 metre bronze, Vita Pavlysh of Ukraine was stripped of the shot put gold and Irina Korzhanenko of Russia was stripped of the shot put silver. The men's 110 metre hurdles at the 2000 Summer Olympics as part of the athletics programme were held at Stadium Australia on Sunday 24 September and Monday 25 September 2000. Forty-four athletes from 31 nations competed. The maximum number of athletes per nation had been set at 3 since the 1930 Olympic Congress. The event was won by Anier García of Cuba, the nation's first championship in the event and first medal in the event since 1980. Mark Crear's bronze made him the 10th man to win a second medal in the event. Summary After a false start eliminated nobody, on the second try the field started even. Anier García accelerated his first few steps better and gained a few centimeter lead over the first barrier, which he rattled. Typically fast starting Terrence Trammell was just slightly awkward on his second step losing a slight amount of ground.
