Emil Karl Resch (9 June 1860 – 22 May 1930) was a German-Australian brewer. He founded and operated the successful brewing company Resch's Limited, the name of which survives today as beer brand Resch's. Resch's Limited
Resch's Limited was an Australian brewing company. It was incorporated in July 1906 to manage the brewing interests of German immigrant Edmund Resch, who had owned regional breweries before buying out Sydney brewer Allt's and then building his own brewery. It operated the "Waverley Brewery" in the Sydney suburb of Waterloo. Resch operated the company until his death in 1923, after which time it was operated by his sons. In July 1929, Tooth and Co. purchased the company's assets for approximately £2,500,000 and it was placed into voluntary liquidation. Their brand continues in 2018 as Resch's, now owned by Carlton and United Breweries. Resch's
Resch's is a brand of beer produced by Carlton & United Breweries, available in New South Wales, Australia. It was also the name of the Sydney brewing company who produced the beer brand and were based in Redfern until taken over by Tooth & Co in 1929. History Resch's Limited was a Sydney-based brewery founded by Edmund Resch. The company collapsed in 1929, at which time it was taken over by Tooth & Co The name lived on in the brands of beer that continued to be produced. Waverley Brewery closed in 1983, and was redeveloped into the Moore Park Gardens Apartment Development by Dealruby in the 1990s.
