Emil Ekiyor Jr. (born January 22, 2000) is an American football offensive guard for the Alabama Crimson Tide. High school career Ekiyor attended Cathedral High School in Indianapolis, Indiana. Guard (American Football)
In gridiron football, a guard (G), otherwise known as an offensive guard (OG), is a player who lines up between the center and the tackles on the offensive line of a football team on the line of scrimmage used primarily for blocking. Cathedral High School is a private Catholic high school in Indianapolis, Indiana. The school serves approximately 1,200 students in grades 9 to 12. The school was founded in Archdiocese of Indianapolis by Bishop Joseph Chartrand in 1918 and was run by the Brothers of Holy Cross until it became independent by the late 1970s. Holy Cross returned to the school in 2011. History The school was founded as a boys high school by the Brothers of Holy Cross in 1918. In the 1970s, with the departure of the Brothers, a non-profit trust was developed by Robert V. Welch, other parents, and a lay board in an effort to keep Cathedral alive.
