Emil Andrae
Emil Valentin Andrae (born February 23, 2002) is a Swedish professional ice hockey defenceman for the Lehigh Valley Phantoms of the American Hockey League (AHL) while under contract with the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League (NHL). Andrae was drafted 54th overall by the Flyers in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. Playing career Born and raised in Västervik, Sweden, Andrae started to play for the local team Västerviks IK at a very young age. Ahead of the 2017–18 season, Andrae moved to Oskarshamn to play with IK Oskarshamn. Andrae stayed only one season in Oskarshamn before moving to Jönköping to play with HV71. Andrae signed his first professional contract with HV71 on March 27, 2020. Västervik is a city status in Sweden, city and the seat of Västervik Municipality, Kalmar County, Sweden, with 36,747 inhabitants in 2021. Västervik is one of three coastal towns with a notable population size in the province of Småland. The 2023–24 NHL season was the 107th season of operation (106th season of play) of the National Hockey League (NHL). The regular season began on October 10, 2023, and ended on April 18, 2024. Connor Bedard
Connor Bedard (born July 17, 2005) is a Canadian professional ice hockey centre for the Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League (NHL). Considered one of the greatest ice hockey prospects of his generation, he was selected first overall by the Blackhawks in the 2023 NHL entry draft and made his NHL debut that year. Bedard would go on to win the Calder Memorial Trophy as rookie of the year in 2024. In ice hockey, the captain is the player designated by a team as the only person authorized to speak with the game officials regarding rule interpretations when the captain is on the ice. 2021 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships
The 2021 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships (''2021 WJHC'') was the 45th edition of the IIHF World Junior Championship, Ice Hockey World Junior Championship, held from 25 December 2020 to 5 January 2021. 2022 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships
The 2022 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships (''2022 WJHC'') was the 46th edition of the Ice Hockey World Junior Championship, held from 9 to 20 August 2022 at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The tournament was originally scheduled to be held from 26 December 2021 through 5 January 2022, in Edmonton and Red Deer — the host cities originally awarded the 2022 tournament before it was moved into a "bubble" behind closed doors competition in Edmonton due to the COVID-19 pandemic. During the tournament, multiple teams reported COVID-19 outbreaks. Consequently, the IIHF decided on 29 December 2021 to cancel the tournament. IIHF World Junior Championship
The IIHF World Junior Championship (WJC), sometimes referred to as World Juniors, is an annual event organized by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) for national under-20 ice hockey teams from around the world.
