Emelia Arthur
Emelia Arthur is a Ghanaian politician and a former deputy Western Regional Minister of Ghana. She was appointed by President John Evan Atta Mills and served till January 2013. In December 2024 she won the parliamentary election as the National Democratic Congress (Ghana) candidate in the Shama constituency of the Western Region of Ghana, with 57% of the votes cast. Arthur has expressed concern over the decline of Ghana’s marine and inland fisheries resources, emphasizing the need for urgent action to support aquaculture as a sustainable alternative.
