Emeis
''Emeis'' (; ) is a Greek album by singers Anna Vissi and Nikos Karvelas. It was released in Greece and Cyprus in 1992 by Sony Music Greece and was certified gold. It features Vissi's song ''Den Thelo Na Xereis''. Background and release Music and lyrics are by Nikos Karvelas. It included two duets with Anna Vissi, ''Emeis'' ("We") and ''Fteo'' ("It's my fault"), break-up themed songs reflecting aspects of their marriage, as the couple were filing for divorce at the time. The vocals on the A side of the record (tracks 2, 3, 4, 5 on CD) were performed by Anna Vissi, whereas on the B side (CD tracks 6, 7, 9, 10) by Karvelas himself, who also played instruments and produced all tracks. The album's biggest hit, though, ''Den Thelo Na Xereis'' ("I don't want you to know"), an operatic power-ballad featuring Anna Vissi on the lead vocals, was met with acclaim, becoming one of the singer's signature songs and one of the most popular Greek songs of the 1990s. Nikos Karvelas
Nikos Karvelas (; born 8 September 1951) is a Greek musician, composer, singer, songwriter, record producer and author. He has sold millions of records as a producer and is most recognizable for his four-decade-long collaboration with Anna Vissi, while some of his other well-known collaborations include Tolis Voskopoulos and Sakis Rouvas. Karvelas has released multiple personal studio albums that have had mild to big success. In 2012, Alpha TV ranked Karvelas as the 13th top-certified composer in Greece in the phonographic era. Early life Karvelas was born in Piraeus. When he was five years old, his parents bought him his first piano. He started to play popular songs and composed his first melodies. During the 1970s, he studied law at the University of Athens. Karvelas created his first rock band influenced by famous rock bands like the Beatles and the Rolling Stones. Anna Vissi (, , ; born 20 December 1957) is a Greek Cypriot singer. She studied music at conservatories and performed locally before moving to the professional scene in Athens, in 1973, where she signed with Minos EMI#Merger with Minos Matsas & Son, Minos and simultaneously collaborated with other musical artists and released promotional singles of her own while studying at the University of Athens. ''Eimai'' (; ) is the name of a Greek album by singer Anna Vissi released in Greece and Cyprus in 1990 by CBS Greece. Background The coda of the song "Perimeno Tilefonima Sou" is a tribute to the musical ''The Phantom of the Opera'' by Andrew Lloyd Webber. The album's proposed title was ''Ipervoles'' (''Exaggerations''), but finally the title of the first track was opted for instead. The music video for the album's first single, "Fos", shot in late 1990 in the area of Lavrio, is noted as being one of the first ever large-scale music video production in Greece. Vissi is portrayed as Esmeralda from Victor Hugo's classic novel ''The Hunchback of Notre-Dame'', published in 1831. Quasimodo's part was portrayed by the video's director Nikos Soulis. ''Lambo'' (; ) is an album by Greek singer Anna Vissi, released in Greece and Cyprus in 1992. The single "Lambo" prompted the mambo dance trend in Greece. Due to its December 24 release date, the album was played extensively during the 1992 Christmas holiday period. Album Information Music, lyrics and album production are entirely by Nikos Karvelas. ''Lambo'', ''Akoma Mia'', ''Se Hriazome'' and ''O,ti thes ego'' were released on promotional videos during 1992 and 1993, airing in local TV stations. In 2001, the former two were selected for digital release on Vissi's '' The Video Collection''. In 2019, the album was selected for inclusion in the Panik Gold box set ''The Legendary Recordings 1982-2019''.
