''Emboscada'' (English: ''Ambush'') is the fifth studio album by Puerto Rican singer Vico C. It was released on July 2, 2002 by EMI Latin. Produced by Mr. Funky and described by the artist himself as his most complete album. It contains eleven tracks with themes of Christianity, redemption, social criticism and explicit lyrics (violence and sex) in the Latin urban genre. The album incorporates Christian rap with elements of alternative reggaeton and tropical house. Vico C
Luis Armando Lozada Cruz (born September 8, 1971), known by his stage name Vico C, is an Puerto Rican rapper, singer and record producer. Regarded as the founding father of reggaeton, Vico C has played an influential role in the development of Latin American hip-hop and urban music. Early life and influence He was born in New York and raised in Puerto Rico. Nicknamed ''El Filósofo del Rap'', ("The Philosopher of Rap"), Luis Armando Lozada Cruz adopted the professional name Vico C. José Rómulo Sosa Ortiz (17 February 1948 – 28 September 2019), known professionally as José José, was a Mexican singer. Also known as ''El Príncipe de la Canción'' (The Prince of Song), his performance and vocal style have influenced many Latin pop artists in a career that spanned more than four decades. Tropical house, also known as trop house, is a subgenre of house music, and a derivation of tropical music, with elements of dancehall and Balearic house.
