Elsie (album)
''Elsie'' is the debut studio album by The Horrible Crowes, a Gaslight Anthem side-project made up of Ian Perkins and Gaslight Anthem founder Brian Fallon. It was released on September 6, 2011, through SideOneDummy Records. A 10th anniversary reissue of the album, featuring ten bonus tracks, was released on vinyl on February 11, 2022. Singles ''Elsies lead single, "Behold the Hurricane," was released July 19, 2011. Critical reception ''Elsie'' received mostly positive reviews from music critics. At Metacritic, the album has an average score of 76 out of 100, which indicates "generally favorable reviews" based on 15 reviews. Andrew Leahey of AllMusic rated the album four out of five stars with this comment: "Elsie functions best as a display of Fallon’s underused bottom register and acoustic songwriting skills, proving that slowing things down once in a while can still be a punk rock move." The Horrible Crowes
The Horrible Crowes was a musical duo consisting of vocalist and guitarist Brian Fallon and guitarist Ian Perkins. Fallon is also the front man in The Gaslight Anthem, a band he formed in 2006, with Perkins serving as the band's touring tech and an auxiliary live guitarist. Their debut album and only full-length studio release, ''Elsie (album), Elsie'', was released on September 6, 2011, through SideOneDummy Records. Formation Fallon announced the formation of the Horrible Crowes on January 20, 2011, on his blog, explaining that "the name comes from a poem called the "Twa Corbies", which means "two crows". INXS (a phonetic play on "in excess") were an Australian rock band, formed as the Farriss Brothers in 1977 in Sydney. The founding members were bassist Garry Gary Beers, main composer and keyboardist Andrew Farriss, drummer Jon Farriss, guitarist Tim Farriss, lead singer and main lyricist Michael Hutchence, and guitarist and saxophonist Kirk Pengilly. Michael Hutchence
Michael Kelland John Hutchence (22 January 1960 – 22 November 1997) was an Australian singer and songwriter. He was the co-founder, lead singer and lyricist of the rock band INXS from 1977 until his death in 1997. The band sold over 50 million records worldwide, making them one of Australia's highest-selling music acts of all time. They were inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame in 2001. Hutchence was also a member of the short-lived band Max Q and recorded some solo material, alongside acting in films such as '' Dogs in Space'' (1986) and '' Frankenstein Unbound'' (1990). He was known for his string of love affairs with actresses, models and singers and his private life was often covered in the international press. Andrew Charles Farriss (born 27 March 1959) is an Australian rock musician and multi-instrumentalist best known as the keyboardist, backing vocalist, and main composer for rock band INXS. He released his debut solo album in 2021.
