Ellis Merriweather
Ellis Merriweather (born April 7, 1999) is an American football running back for the Green Bay Packers of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Massachusetts. Early life and high school Merriweather's hometown is Alpharetta, Georgia and attended Alpharetta High School. In Merriweather's high school career he rushed for 556 yards and six touchdowns, while bringing in ten recptions for 77 yards. Merriweather would decide to commit to play college football at Garden City Community College. College career Garden City In Merriweather's career at Garden City he rushed for 910 yards and ten touchdowns in 18 games over two years. In sports, the practice squad, also called the taxi squad or practice roster, is a group of players signed by a team but not part of their main roster. Frequently used in gridiron football, they serve as extra players during the team's practices, often as part of the scout team by emulating an upcoming opponent's play style. Because the players on the practice squad are familiar with the team's plays and formations, the practice squad serves as a way to develop inexperienced players for promotion to the main roster.
