Elliot Vallejo
Elliot Louis Vallejo uh-LAY-ho(born May 17, 1984) is a former American football offensive tackle. He was signed by the Arizona Cardinals as an undrafted free agent in 2006. He played college football at UC Davis. He retired from the National Football League in 2010, received his Master's in Systems Engineering and now works as a Systems Engineer at Key Technology. Early years Vallejo played football while at Palma High School in Salinas, California. He was also a member of the wrestling and track & field teams. College career Vallejo played at UC Davis. He transferred there from UCLA in 2002. He received his B.S. in Materials Sciences and Engineering. Professional career Arizona Cardinals Vallejo signed a free agent contract on April 30, 2007 with the National Football League's Arizona Cardinals, but was released the following training camp. Practice Squad
In sports, the practice squad, also called the taxi squad or practice roster, is a group of players signed by a team but not part of their main roster. Frequently used in gridiron football, they serve as extra players during the team's practices, often as part of the scout team by emulating an upcoming opponent's play style. Because the players on the practice squad are familiar with the team's plays and formations, the practice squad serves as a way to develop inexperienced players for promotion to the main roster. This is particularly important for professional gridiron football teams, which do not have formal minor league farm team affiliates to train players. The injured reserve list ( IR list) is a designation used in North American professional sports leagues for athletes who suffer injuries and become unable to play. The exact name of the list varies by league; it is known as "injured reserve" in the National Football League (NFL) and National Hockey League (NHL), the "injured list" in the Canadian Football League (CFL), and the injured list (historically known as the "disabled list") in Major League Baseball (MLB). The National Basketball Association (NBA) does not have a direct analog to an injured reserve list, instead using a more general-purpose "inactive list" that does not require a player to be injured. Injured reserve lists are used because the rules of these leagues allow for only a certain numbers of players on each team's roster. Clark Cromwell Haggans (born January 10, 1977) is a former American football outside linebacker. He was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the fifth round of the 2000 NFL Draft. He played college football at Colorado State as a defensive end. Haggans played in the NFL from 2000 through 2012, for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Arizona Cardinals, and San Francisco 49ers Haggans earned a Super Bowl ring with the Steelers in Super Bowl XL against the Seattle Seahawks.
