Elliot Gaiser
Thomas Elliot Gaiser (born September 6, 1989) is an American attorney who has served as the solicitor general of Ohio since 2023. Gaiser studied political economy and speech studies at Hillsdale College, where he was a conservative blogger and podcaster. He later attended the University of Chicago Law School and clerked for several judges, including Edith H. Jones of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and Neomi Rao of the Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. Gaiser clerked for Supreme Court associate justice Samuel Alito in the 2021–2022 term. He was involved in efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election. In October 2023, Dave Yost, the Attorney General of Ohio, named Gaiser as the state's solicitor general. In April 2025, president Donald Trump named Gaiser as his nominee for United States assistant attorney general for the Office of Legal Counsel. Clarence Thomas (born June 23, 1948) is an American lawyer and jurist who has served since 1991 as an associate justice of the Supreme Court of the United States. President George H. W. Bush nominated him to succeed Thurgood Marshall. After Marshall, Thomas is the second African American to serve on the U.S. Supreme Court and has been its longest-serving member since Anthony Kennedy's retirement in 2018.
