Elliot Friedman
Elliotte Friedman (born September 27, 1970) is a Canadian sports journalist. Since 2014, he has been an ice hockey reporter for Sportsnet and an insider for the NHL Network. He is a regular panelist on CBC's ''Hockey Night in Canada''. Early life and education Friedman was born and raised in a middle-class Jewish home. He attended the University of Western Ontario and worked at the student newspaper ''The Gazette'' as a sports editor and eventually as editor-in-chief in 1992–93. Career Friedman began his broadcast career for the Toronto sports radio station The Fan 590 in 1994. He did play-by-play for Toronto Raptors games on both radio and television and reported on Toronto Blue Jays games in 1998. He also did freelance work for the ''London Free Press'' and the ''Toronto Star''. Friedman was awarded the Telemedia Reporter of the Year award in 1996. Bill Guerin
William Robert Guerin (born November 9, 1970) is an American former professional ice hockey player and the current general manager of the Minnesota Wild. He previously was the assistant general manager of the Pittsburgh Penguins and general manager of the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. Guerin played 18 season (sports), seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL), winning two Stanley Cup championships with the New Jersey Devils and Pittsburgh Penguins. Ryan Steven Lochte ( ; born August 3, 1984) is an American former competition swimmer and 12-time Olympic medalist. He is the third-most decorated swimmer in Olympic history measured by total number of medals, behind only Michael Phelps and Katie Ledecky. Steve Armitage
Steve Armitage (born 20 June 1944) is a retired British-born Canadian sports reporter, formerly with CBC Sports. He reported on and hosted '' Hockey Night in Canada'' broadcasts for the Vancouver Canucks for nearly 30 years, the Canadian Football League and Grey Cup for 30 years, the Olympics including speed skating, swimming and diving, and the World Cup. The Gemini Awards were awards given by the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television between 1986–2011 to recognize the achievements of Canada's English-language television industry. The Gemini Awards are analogous to the Emmy Awards given in the United States and the BAFTA Television Awards in the United Kingdom. First held in 1986 to replace the ACTRA Award, the ceremony celebrated Canadian television productions with awards in 87 categories, along with other special awards such as lifetime achievement awards. Brian James Williams (born July 18, 1946) is a retired Canadian sportscaster who is best known for his coverage of the Olympic Games. Early life Williams' father was a physician. ''CFL on CBC'' was a presentation of Canadian Football League football aired on CBC Television. CBC held broadcast rights for the CFL from 1952 to 2007. The exclusive broadcasting rights for the league moved to TSN starting from the 2008 CFL season. Schedule The broadcast schedule changed several times in its history, but in the final years of the run, CBC showed a game every Saturday.
