Ellerslie Flower Show
The Ellerslie International Flower Show was an annual garden show held in New Zealand. Previously held in the city of Auckland, the show moved to Christchurch at Hagley Park in 2008. Attendance is several tens of thousands of people at each event during the five days in which it is open to the public. The show has been held every year since 1994, except 1997 and 2011 (when it was cancelled due to the Christchurch earthquake). The first show was held in the Auckland suburb of Ellerslie at the Ellerslie Racecourse in 1994. The members of The Rotary Club of Auckland wanted to establish a unique fundraiser to raise money for local charities, so they decided to host an event modelled on the famous Chelsea Flower Show in England. , it has distributed a total of $700,000 for charity. Auckland Flower Show
The Auckland Flower Show was a flower and garden show held in Alexandra Park in the suburb of Epsom, Auckland in November 2008. Previously, the Ellerslie Flower Show was held at the same time of year in Auckland, and had been held every year since 1994 (except 1997). In November 2007, the organisers sold the name of the Ellerslie Flower Show and the use of their services to the Christchurch City Council, which intends holding future Ellerslie Flower Shows at Hagley Park in Christchurch. On 2 December 2007, Auckland Flower Show Ltd announced that they would be continuing the tradition of the annual flower shows in Auckland with the Auckland Flower Show 2008, and on 28 February confirmed that for 2008 the event would be held in Alexandra Park from 20–23 November 2008. Mike Lee (New Zealand Politician)
Michael Lee is a New Zealand local government politician. He has been the Councillor for Waitematā and Gulf on Auckland Council since October 2022, an office he previously held from 2010 to 2019. He was a member of the Auckland Regional Council from 1992 to 2010 and was its final Chair from 2004 to 2010. Political career Auckland Regional Council Lee was first elected to the Auckland Regional Council as an Alliance candidate in a by-election in 1992. He was re-elected as a councillor at every election thereafter until the regional council's dissolution in 2010.
