Cliff Ellen (born 22 March 1936, in Melbourne) is an Australian character actor who played a prominent guest role on the soap opera Neighbours as Charlie Cassidy. His first role was in ''Homicide''. His credits include ''Crackerjack'', ''Garbo'', and ''Phar Lap''. A theatre actor of many years, Ellen played the role of Gaston in the Australian touring production of Steve Martin's ''Picasso at the Lapin Agile'' as well as Hannie Rayson's ''Inheritance''. He also appeared in the 2006 Australian film ''BoyTown''. Ellen writes a column for a local newspaper based on the Mornington Peninsula. Joff Ellen (born Raymond Charles Ellen; 20 May 191524 December 1999), was an Australian entertainer, actor and comedian. Career During World War II he performed vaudeville acts to the troops and after the war did comedy shows on Melbourne radio station 3XY 1422, now known as Radio Hellas He appeared in various children's television shows as the character ''Joffa Boy'', particularly '' The Tarax Show'', wearing a Carlton Football Club jumper and "Bombay Bloomers" with large suspenders that he would manipulate for comic effect. His entrance song (written by resident star ventriloquist Ron Blaskett) was recorded by the show's girls choir along with musical director Margot Sheridan, and went like this: ''Choir: "Who is that peeping round the corner?'' Mark Ellen (born 16 September 1953) is a British magazine editor, journalist and broadcaster who lives in West London. Early life Ellen was born in Fleet, Hampshire, England. Whilst at Oxford University in the 1970s, he briefly played bass alongside Tony Blair in college band Ugly Rumours, a band that according to Ellen was created primarily to meet women. Career After graduating, he wrote for ''Record Mirror'', '' NME'' and '' Time Out'' before signing up as Features Editor of ''Smash Hits'' in 1981, where he became the editor in 1983. He was the launch editor of '' Q'', the re-launch editor of '' Select'' and the launch managing editor of '' Mojo''. He later became the editor-in-chief of EMAP Metro overseeing 14 consumer magazines, but he left Emap after 16 years to join the independent publishing company Development Hell in 2002. Roy Frank Ellen, FBA FRAI (born 1947) is a British professor of anthropology and human ecology, with a particular interest in ethnobiology and the cultural transmission of Traditional knowledge, ethnobiological knowledge. Ellen is a professor of environmental anthropology and ethnobiology at the University of Kent at Canterbury. He studied anthropology at the London School of Economics and Leiden and is most known for his extensive fieldwork in East Indonesia with the Nuaulu people of Seram. Shane Ellen (born 1 January 1973) is a former Australian rules footballer who played in the Australian Football League (AFL). Bulldogs career Ellen, a Footscray local, made his debut with the Bulldogs in 1993, and when he left in 1995 he had played just 11 games for 1 goal. He was then delisted, before being selected by the Adelaide Football Club in the 1996 Pre-season Draft. Adelaide career He arrived at the Crows in 1996 and was a largely unheralded player.
