Elizabeth Swann is a fictional character in the ''Pirates of the Caribbean'' film series. She appears in ''The Curse of the Black Pearl'' (2003), ''Dead Man's Chest'' (2006), '' At World's End'' (2007) and '' Dead Men Tell No Tales'' (2017). She is portrayed by Keira Knightley in all four films. Elizabeth is the daughter of Weatherby Swann, the wife of Will Turner and the mother of Henry Turner. Lady Elizabeth Swann (previously Schwann, née Duncan; 1855 – 14 April 1914) was a social activist, philanthropist, and advocate for trade unionism, and women's suffrage, and the development of midwifery, as well as an important figure in the development of organised humanism and the Ethical movement in Britain. She was the wife of Liberal Party politician Sir Charles Ernest Swann MP. In 1896, she was President of the inaugural Annual Congress of the Union of Ethical Societies, which eventually became Humanists UK. Humanists UK describes this as an "equivalent role" to the position of President of Humanists UK, which was created in 1919. In this light, she can be considered the first President of Humanists UK. Captain Hector Barbossa is a fictional character of the ''Pirates of the Caribbean'' franchise, depicted by Geoffrey Rush and appearing in all five films in the series. Barbossa debuted in ''The Curse of the Black Pearl'' (2003) as the captain of the ''Black Pearl'' and a cursed undead skeleton, where he dies at the end of the film.
