Elizabeth railway station is located on the Gawler line. Situated on the border of the northern Adelaide suburbs of Elizabeth and Edinburgh, it is from Adelaide station. History The township of Elizabeth was established in 1955, with Elizabeth South railway station the first to be constructed in the area. Elizabeth station opened on June 27 1960 in anticipation of increased demand from the nearby town centre and shopping district opening later in 1960. The station was first rebuilt in 1999 with one island platform and shelter, which was accessible by an underground pedestrian subway. In July 2011, the station was demolished and rebuilt as part of a $40 million station upgrade project. Approximately $15 million was allocated for a complete rebuild of Elizabeth Station, including construction of two new side platforms, a pedestrian overpass, and a bus interchange facility. Elizabeth is a disused train station in Elizabeth, New Jersey. It was built by the Central Railroad of New Jersey (CNJ) in 1893. It is adjacent to NJ Transit's Elizabeth station on the Northeast Corridor. That station was built and owned by the Pennsylvania Railroad; in the era of private operation passengers could transfer between the two. The CNJ right-of-way in Elizabeth is unused, and passenger trains which served the former CNJ mainline (NJT's Raritan Valley Line service) bypass Elizabeth via the Aldene Connection on their way to Newark Penn Station. The station has been renovated and used as commercial space. The Chicago Great Western Railroad Depot is a historic railway station in the village of Elizabeth, Illinois, USA. It was built in 1877–78 and like many rural stations along the Chicago Great Western Railroad it was cast in Stick style. The building was listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in 1996. History The Elizabeth, Illinois Chicago Great Western Railroad Depot was built in 1877–78 by the Minnesota Northwestern Railway Company. In January 1892, A.B. Stickney's Chicago Great Western Railroad company bought the Minnesota Northwestern company. Architecture The design of the depot in Elizabeth is similar to the design of many of the rural stations built during the 1880s and 1890s along the Chicago Great Western Railroad. Norfolk Southern Passenger Station is a historic train station located at Elizabeth City, Pasquotank County, North Carolina. It was built in 1914 by the Norfolk Southern Railway, and is a long one-story brick building with eclectic Mission Revival-style design elements. It measures 98 feet by 36 feet, with a small projecting control booth. It is topped by a tall hipped roof sheathed in clay tile. On its western side, the station is adjacent to the Defence Science & Technology Group's Edinburgh site, and there is a walking track to the station for employees of DST Group.
