Elizabeth Amoah Tetteh
Elizabeth Amoah-Tetteh (born 25 November 1945) is an educationist and Ghanaian politician. She was the Member of Parliament for the Twifu-Atti Morkwaa constituency in the 5th Parliament of the 4th Republic of Ghana. Early life and education Amoah-Tetteh was born on 25 November 1945. She hails from Twifo-Abodom in the Central Region of Ghana. In 1974 she obtained a Diploma in Physical Education at the Specialist Training College in Winneba. Career Amoah-Tetteh worked as an assistant director for Data Collection at the Teacher Education Division of the Ghana Education Service in Accra. She was a member of Parliament for the Twifo-Atti Morkwaa constituency and also the Deputy Minister of Education in-charge of Pre-tertiary Education during regime of His Excellency the Ex-President of Ghana John Dramani Mahama. National Democratic Congress (Ghana)
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is a social democratic political party in Ghana, founded by Jerry Rawlings, who was Head of State in Ghana from 1981 to 1993. He became the President of Ghana from 1993 to 2001. Following the formation of the Provisional National Defence Council (PNDC), which ruled Ghana following the military coup d'état on 31 December 1981, there was pressure from the international community to restore democracy. The NDC was formed as the ruling party ahead of elections in 1992, in which Rawlings was elected president, and in 1996 Rawlings was re-elected as the NDC candidate. Rawlings' second term ended in 2001. The NDC lost the presidency in the 2000 election, and it was not until the 2008 election, that they regained it with John Atta Mills as its candidate. The Convention People's Party (CPP) is a socialist political party in Ghana based on the ideas of the first President of Ghana, Kwame Nkrumah. The CPP was formed in June 1949 after Nkrumah broke away from the United Gold Coast Convention (UGCC). Origins The Convention People's Party is descended from a line of political movements formed in the early half of the 20th century to spearhead the anti-colonial struggle in the Gold Coast. The movement that preceded it was the United Gold Coast Convention (UGCC) formed in August 1947 and led predominantly by members of the professional and business classes. The New Patriotic Party (NPP; ) is a Centre-right politics, centre-right and Liberal conservatism, liberal-conservative political party in Ghana. 2008 Ghanaian General Election
General elections were held in Ghana on 7 December 2008. Since no candidate received more than 50% of the votes, a run-off election was held on 28 December 2008 between the two candidates who received the most votes, Nana Akufo-Addo of the governing New Patriotic Party and John Atta Mills of the opposition National Democratic Congress. John Mahama
John Dramani Mahama (; born 29 November 1958) is a Ghanaian politician who has been the 14th president of Ghana since January 2025. A member of the National Democratic Congress (Ghana), National Democratic Congress (NDC), he served as the 12th president from 2012 to 2017. John Kofi Agyekum Kufuor (born 8 December 1938) is a Ghanaian politician who served as the tenth president of Ghana from 2001 to 2009.
