Elitzur Eito Ashkelon () is a professional basketball team based in Ashkelon in south west Israel. The club currently plays in Liga Leumit (basketball), Israeli National League.Elitzur Eito Ashkelon
EuroBasket The team is named after the late Itamar Sharvit (nicknamed "Eito"), who has been Elizur Ashkelon's maintenance manager for 18 years.


History

The team was founded in 2015 after Elitzur Ashkelon has been dissolved. In the 2017–18 season, the team has been promoted to the Liga Leumit (basketball), Israeli National League after winning the Liga Artzit (basketball), Liga Artzit championship title. In the 2018–19 Israeli Basketball National League, 2018–19 season, they have qualified to the national league playoffs, where they eventually were eliminated by Hapoel Galil Elyon in the Quarterfinals.

Liga Leumit (basketball)
Liga Leumit (, lit. ''National League'') is the second tier level league of basketball competition in Israel. It is the league level that is below the first tier Israeli Premier League. League system On 30 July, 2024 the Israel Basketball Association announces new game system. The regular season be played in a home-and-away Round-robin tournament, round-robin format. The top 6 finishers will advance to the Top-teams League Group, and the rest of the teams will advance to the Bottom-Teams League Group. The winner of the Top-teams League Group will be promoted to the Israeli Basketball Premier League, Premier League, while the 2nd to 9th ranked teams will advance to the playoff to determine the second team that will be promoted. The two teams that finish at the bottom of the Bottom-Teams League Group will be relegated to the Liga Artzit (basketball), Liga Artzit. Hapoel Galil Elyon
Hapoel Galil Elyon (), also known as Hapoel Nofar Energy Galil Elion for sponsorship reasons, is an Israeli basketball club. The team competes in the Israeli Basketball Premier League, the top tier of Israeli basketball, and internationally in the Balkan League. The team represents the northern region of the country – the Upper Galilee, and the Golan Heights.
