Eliot Halverson
Eliot Jon Halverson (born November 8, 1990) is an American figure skater. As a men's singles skater, she is the 2007 US Junior National Champion. Personal life Halverson was born in Bogotá, Colombia and was adopted from Colombia at age five months. She lived and trained in Saint Paul, Minnesota from her move to the United States until 2008, when she began training in Ann Arbor. Halverson's parents are divorced and she lives with her mother. She has been homeschooled from a young age. In 2019, Halverson came out as nonbinary and began using she/her pronouns. Career Halverson began skating at age six on a frozen pond behind her house. When the World Figure Skating Championships came to Minneapolis in 1998, Halverson skipped school for a week to watch them. This encouraged her to take private lessons and become a more serious skater. She landed her first triple at age eleven. The 2005 U.S. Figure Skating Championships took place on January 9–16, 2005 at the Rose Garden in Portland, Oregon. The Midwestern Sectional Figure Skating Championships is an annual figure skating competition sanctioned by U.S. Figure Skating. Skaters compete in five levels: Senior, Junior, Novice, Intermediate, and Juvenile. Medals are awarded in four disciplines: Ladies singles, Men's singles, Pairs, and Ice dance. Parker Pennington
Parker Blair Pennington (born September 13, 1984) is an American figure skater. He won silver medals at the 2006 Nebelhorn Trophy and 2007 Finlandia Trophy, three gold medals on the JGP series, and bronze at the 2002 JGP Final. Pennington won U.S. national titles on four levels—junior (2001), novice (1998), intermediate (1996), and juvenile (1995). Personal life Pennington was born on September 13, 1984 in Hartford, Connecticut. He graduated from Lakewood High School in 2003. His younger brother, Colin, is the 2003 national novice champion in men's singles. In 2008, he began studying part-time at Baldwin-Wallace College while still competing. Courchevel, France
Courchevel () is a French Alps ski resort. It is a part of Les Trois Vallées, the largest linked ski areas in the world. Courchevel also refers to the towns of Courchevel 1300 (Le Praz), Courchevel 1550, Courchevel 1650 (Moriond), and Courchevel 1850, which are named for their altitudes in metres. On 1 January 2017, Saint-Bon-Tarentaise (1100) merged into the new commune Courchevel. The resort centre of Courchevel is at 1,747 metres (5,732 ft). The name Courchevel 1850 was chosen for marketing reasons to compete with rival ski resort Val d'Isère. The event is open to figure skaters from ISU member nations who have reached the age of 13 by 1 July the previous year, but have not yet turned 19. The upper age limit for men competing in pairs and dance is 21. Skaters compete in four disciplines: men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. The term "Junior" refers to the age level rather than the skill level.
