''Eliminator'' is the eighth studio album by American rock band ZZ Top. It was released on March 23, 1983, by Warner Bros. Records, and rose high on the charts in many countries. Four hit singles were released—" Gimme All Your Lovin'" which reached the American Top 40, " Sharp Dressed Man", "TV Dinners" and their most successful single, " Legs". A Diamond certified album in the United States, ''Eliminator'' is ZZ Top's most commercially successful release, with sales of 11 million in the US. Recorded in 1982, the album represents a further step of modernization by bandleader Billy Gibbons. ''American Gladiators'' is an athletic competition game show where contestants, referred to as "contenders", competed against the show's titular Gladiators in a series of physical games called "events" with the goal to be crowned the Grand Champion at the end of the season and win thousands of dollars in cash and prizes. Over the course of the original series and a 2008 revival, twenty-three events were conceived. Each event was scored, with the objectives for scoring differing from event to event. When the original series premiered in 1989, points were awarded in multiples of five. The Eliminators
The Eliminators were a professional wrestling tag team that consisted of Perry Saturn and John Kronus who were best known for their time in Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW) between 1995 and 1997. History Formation While working as the manager of a nightclub in Boston, Perry Satullo met bouncer George Caiazzo, who expressed an interest in becoming a wrestler. Satullo sent Caiazzo to Killer Kowalski's school to train, and then offered to form a tag team with him. Satullo took the name Saturn, after the Roman god of agriculture and the harvest, and Caiazzo took the name of Saturn's Greek equivalent Cronus, with the spelling slightly altered as "Kronus". Satullo proposed that the team be known as "The Harvesters of Sorrow" due to the significance of their ring names, but promoter Jerry Lawler advised Satullo that the significance would not be evident to many fans. ''Eliminator'' is a multi-directional shooter space combat game, created and released by Sega/ Gremlin in 1981. Similar to the monochrome '' Star Castle'', ''Eliminator'' uses color vector graphics and allows both cooperative and competitive multiplayer gameplay. It is the only four-player vector game ever made. Gameplay Players pilot a space ship around the playfield (space) and must destroy alien drones. John Kronus
George B. Caiazzo (January 13, 1969 – July 18, 2007) was an American professional wrestler, better known by his ring name, John Kronus, and later simply Kronus. Caiazzo worked for Extreme Championship Wrestling, the United States Wrestling Association and Xtreme Pro Wrestling. He was perhaps best known as one-half of the tag team The Eliminators with Perry Saturn. Early life Caiazzo's father, George Caiazzo Sr., played football with the New York Giants before suffering an injury. Professional wrestling career Early career In the late 1980s, Caiazzo met professional wrestler Perry Saturn when he began working as a bouncer in a Boston nightclub managed by Saturn. The Kawasaki Eliminator is a cruiser-type motorcycle that has been produced in several variants since its introduction in 1985 as the 900 Eliminator. Currently billed as a "power cruiser", the first two versions of the bike, namely the 1985 Eliminator and 1986 ZL900 models, were almost street replicas of a drag style bike, featuring shaft drive, the ZX900 close-ratio gearbox and forward seating. Don Nicholson
Don Nicholson (May 28, 1927 – January 24, 2006) was an American drag racer from Missouri. He raced in the 1960s and 1970s when there were few national events. The National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) estimates he won 90 percent of his match races. As of 2002, he held the record for the most number of categories in which he reached a final round (won or took second at an event): Funny Car, Pro Stock, Super Stock, Competition Eliminator, Stock, and Street. He was nicknamed "Dyno Don" after he was one of the first drivers to use a chassis dynamometer on his cars in the late 1950s, a skill that he learned while working as a line mechanic at a Chevrolet car dealer.
