Elias Granath
Elias Granath (born September 6, 1985, in Borlänge, Sweden) is a professional Swedish ice hockey defenceman currently an unrestricted free agent. He played two seasons for Schwenninger Wild Wings of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL). On December 12, 2015 he signed at new contract with Herning Bluefox of the Danish Metalligaen for the rest of the 2015-2016 season. He has previously captained Timrå IK in the Swedish Elitserien Elitserien (literally, "the Elite League") is the name of several Swedish nationwide sport leagues. Point (ice Hockey)
In ice hockey, point has three contemporary meanings. Personal stat A point is awarded to a player for each goal scored or assist earned. The total number of goals plus assists equals total points. The Art Ross Trophy is awarded to the National Hockey League (NHL) player who leads the league in scoring points at the end of the regular season. Team stat Points are also awarded to assess standings (or rankings). Historically, teams were awarded two points for each win, one point for each tie and no points for a loss. 2009–10 Elitserien Season
The 2009–10 Elitserien season was the 35th season of Elitserien. It started on September 21, 2009 and ended on March 13, 2010. The playoffs started on March 18, 2010 and ended on April 24, 2010. HV71 won the playoffs, beating Timrå IK 4–1 in the quarter final series, Skellefteå AIK 4–1 in the semifinal series, and Djurgårdens IF 4–2 in the final series. The season had a mid-season break that started on February 9 and ended on February 26 to allow participation of Elitserien players in the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. 2008–09 HockeyAllsvenskan Season
The 2008–09 HockeyAllsvenskan season was the fourth season of the HockeyAllsvenskan, the second level of ice hockey in Sweden. 16 teams participated in the league, and the top four qualified for the Kvalserien, with the opportunity to be promoted to the Elitserien. Due to the league reducing the number of teams from 16 to 14 teams for the 2009–10 season, the worst team ( Mariestad) was relegated to Division 1 while the other two worst teams, ranked 14–15 ( Huddinge and Nybro) had to play in the relegation round for survival in HockeyAllsvenskan. In the relegation round, only the best team ( Örebro) qualified for the following HockeyAllsvenskan season. HockeyAllsvenskan (previously Allsvenskan and SuperAllsvenskan) is a professional ice hockey league, and the second-highest league in the Swedish ice hockey system (after the SHL). Since the 2009–10 season, the league consists of fourteen teams. Swedish Division 1 (ice Hockey)
Hockeyettan is the third tier of ice hockey in Sweden. As of the 2015–16 Hockeyettan season, 2015–16 season, the league consists of 46 teams divided geographically into four groups. Hockeyettan operates a system of promotion and relegation with HockeyAllsvenskan and Division 2 (Swedish ice hockey), Division 2. From 1944 to 1975, Division I was the highest league in the Swedish ice hockey system, but with the creation of Swedish Hockey League, Elitserien (now the SHL) in 1975, it became the second tier. Division I was further relegated to third-tier status in 1999 as HockeyAllsvenskan was spun off into a standalone league, but was frequently written as "Division 1" on the Internet, as it was pronounced "Division One". Borlänge HF
Borlänge Hockeyförening (literally ''Borlänge Hockey Association'') or Borlänge HF is a Swedish ice hockey club located in Borlänge. The club has origins in IF Tunabro, founded in 1961, which played three seasons in Sweden's top hockey league (then called Division I) from 1971 but in 1974 was demoted to the second tier (then called Division 1) and in 1977 was further demoted to the third tier (then Division 2). This created a situation where three Borlänge teams played in the same league, resulting in a series of mergers ending in 1981. The unified club was given its current name in 1993.
