Eli Soyud
Christine Joy Soyud (born December 27, 1995) is a Filipino volleyball player. She is currently playing as an Opposite Hitter for the Akari Chargers in the Premier Volleyball League, PVL. Career UAAP Soyud made her first game appearance with De La Salle Lady Spikers volleyball, De La Salle Lady Spikers in the UAAP Season 77 volleyball tournaments, UAAP Season 78. Her team won the title after beating Ateneo in Game 3 of the best of three series. In 2017, she transferred in Adamson University and played for the Adamson Lady Falcons volleyball, Adamson Lady Falcons. She didn't play for the Adamson Lady Falcons volleyball, Adamson Lady Falcons in the UAAP Season 79 volleyball tournaments, UAAP Season 79 because she had to serve a one-year residency imposed by the University Athletic Association of the Philippines for transferring from a UAAP school (La Salle) to another (Adamson). PVL Press Corps Awards Night
The PVL Press Corps Awards Night is the annual awards show of the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) and Spikers' Turf presented by the PVL Press Corps, a group of print and online media personnel who covers the league. The first edition was held on May 28, 2025, at the Novotel Manila Araneta City in Quezon City. Background On April 16, 2025, the Premier Volleyball League announced that it will collaborate its press corps to present awards through a new event. Unlike the league awards which are given in each conference, the PVL Press Corps awards are based on annual performance throughout multiple conferences combined with voting from team representatives and the press corps. AKARI (ASTRO-F) was an infrared astronomy satellite developed by Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency, in cooperation with institutes of Europe and Korea. 2024-25 Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference
A coxless four, abbreviated as a 4- and also called a straight four, is a racing shell used in the sport of competitive rowing. It is designed for four persons who propel the boat with sweep oars, without a coxswain. The crew consists of four rowers, each having one oar. There are two rowers on the stroke side (rower's right hand side) and two on the bow side (rower's lefthand side). As there is no coxswain, the rudder is controlled by one of the crew, normally with the rudder cable attached to the toe of one of their shoes which can pivot about the ball of the foot, moving the cable left or right. 2024 PVL Reinforced Conference
The 2024 Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference was the eighteenth conference of the Premier Volleyball League and its ninth conference as a professional league. This was the second conference for the 2024 season. It was originally slated to be a merged tournament of the Invitational and Reinforced Conferences, but PVL Commissioner Sherwin Malonzo announced in a simultaneous interview during the commencement of the 2024 PVL Draft Combine that this would be a stand-alone Reinforced tournament and that the Invitational Conference would start in September. UAAP Season 78 Volleyball Tournaments
The UAAP Season 78 high school volleyball tournament started on August 22, 2015. The tournament venue is the Adamson University Gym in San Marcelino St., Ermita, Manila. Adamson is the tournament host. The number of participating schools in the boys' and girls' tournaments both increased to seven. Far Eastern University fielded boys' and girls' volleyball teams beginning season 77. Since there are now seven participating schools, the tournaments have a Final Four format. The UAAP Board decided to move the high school volleyball tournaments from 2nd semester to 1st semester due to the basketball juniors tournament being moved from the 1st semester to 2nd semester. 2024–25 Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference
The 2024–25 Premier Volleyball League All–Filipino Conference was the 20th conference of the Premier Volleyball League, its 11th conference as a professional league, and the first conference of the 2024–25 season. The ninth All-Filipino Conference featured twelve teams with no foreign guest players allowed. This is considered the longest conference of the league as it is estimated to take up to 5 to 6 months, as the league aligns with the FIVB calendar. Starting this tournament, referees from nearby countries will officiate semifinals and finals matches in a bid to mitigate bias. The 2018 Premier Volleyball League Collegiate Conference was the 5th conference of the Premier Volleyball League (32nd conference of the former Shakey's V-League conference results, Shakey's V-League).
