Eli Sharvit
Aluf Eli Sharvit () is a general in the Israel Defense Forces who served as the Commander of the Israeli Navy between 2016 and 2021. Life and career Sharvit was born on kibbutz Sde Boker and grew up in Beersheba. He was one of three children born to Yosef and Esther Sharvit, History of the Jews in Morocco, Moroccan Jewish immigrants to Israel. He attended the Makif Alef school in Beersheba. He is married to Eti and the father of three children. Sharvit was conscripted into the Israel Defense Forces in 1985 and joined the Israeli Navy. He remained in the navy as an officer after his mandatory service. Sharvit served in numerous positions and later headed the navy's missile boat fleet in 2009. Ronen Bar (; born 25 December 1965) is an Israeli intelligence officer and the director of the Israeli Security Agency (commonly referred to as Shin Bet, Shabak, or ISA) since 13 October 2021. He replaced Nadav Argaman, after having served as his deputy since 2018. Bar was appointed by Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and his nomination was approved by Israel's cabinet on 11 October 2021. Gadi Eisenkot (; born 19 May 1960), also spelt Eizenkot, is an Israeli general and politician from the Israeli National Unity (Israel), National Unity party. He served as the 21st Chief of Staff of the Israel Defense Forces from 2015 to 2019 and from 2023 to 2024, as a minister without portfolio in Israel's Thirty-seventh government of Israel, unity government. Sde Boker () is a kibbutz in the Negev desert of southern Israel. Best known as the retirement home of Israel's first Prime Minister, David Ben-Gurion, it falls under the jurisdiction of Ramat HaNegev Regional Council. In it had a population of .
