Elfriede "Elfi" von Dassanowsky (February 2, 1924October 2, 2007) was an Austrian-born singer, pianist, and film producer. Early life Elfi von Dassanowsky (also known as Elfi Dassanowsky or Elfriede Dassanowsky) was born Elfriede Maria Elisabeth Charlotte Dassanowsky in Vienna, the daughter of Franz Leopold von Dassanowsky, a civil servant in the Austrian Trade Ministry, and Anna (née Grünwald). A piano prodigy at the age of 5, Elfi attended the Vienna Institute of the Blessed Virgin Mary (known as the "Englische Fräuleins") and became at age 15, the youngest woman admitted to Vienna's Academy of Music and Performing Arts to that date as the protégé of concert pianist, Emil von Sauer. Elfie Donnelly (born 14 January 1950) is a British-Austrian author, who has written numerous books and radio dramas for children. Her major works are '' Bibi Blocksberg'' and '' Benjamin Blümchen''. Biography Donnelly spent her early childhood in Rugby in the English Midlands, and moved to Vienna in her later childhood. The daughter of an Irish father and an Austrian mother, she started a career in journalism already in her youth. In Vienna, she worked as a texter in the news agency APA, where her mother had also worked. In 1973 she moved to Berlin, married Peter Lustig and started writing ''Hörspiele'' (audio dramas) for children. She won the German prize for youth literature with her first book. Elfi Graf (born ''Elfriede Sepp''; 20 November 1952 in Dornbirn, Vorarlberg) is an Austrian Schlagersinger. Biography Graf was born in Dornbirn and grew up there with her two siblings. She studied classical music, but did not complete the course. In 1971, she won the talent competition '' Show Chance'' and then the schlager singer Gus Backus discovered her in '' Talentschuppen''. Elfi Schlegel (born May 17, 1964) is a Canadian gymnast and commentator. She competed in four NCAA women's gymnastics tournaments for the Florida Gators women's gymnastics team and won gold medals at the 1978 Commonwealth Games and 1979 Pan American Games.
