Elez Dervišević
Elez Dervišević (1901–1988) was an Austrian-Hungarian soldier and one of the youngest soldiers in the First World War. Biography He was born in 1901 to a prominent Bosniak merchant family in Bijeljina, Bosnia and Herzegovina. His parents were Sulejman and Munevera. He had two brothers, Osman and Mehmedalija and one sister, Safija. Military career Beginnings At the beginning of the First World War, during the mobilisation of the Austro-Hungarian Army, Ademaga Mešić with his own funds, mobilised 450 volunteer troops and stationed them on the Austria-Hungary border on the river Drina. Dervišević's brother, Mehmed, joined the group and was later promoted to captain. At age eleven, Elez left school to defend Austria-Hungary with Mehmed." Elez Isufi
Elez Isufi (1861 – 30 December 1924) was an Albanian patriot, Kachak and military leader known for his prominent role in the Albanian resistance against the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats, and Slovenes (later Yugoslavia) in the early 20th century as part of the Kachak Movement, as well as the democratic uprisings against the regime of Ahmet Zogu in the 1920s. Early life Elez Isuf Ndreu was born in the village of Sllove, Dibra in 1861. His family came from the village of Soricë in Zall-Dardhë, but they moved due to economic hardships. Although he himself was uneducated, Isufi advocated for the education of Albanian children and financially sponsored the opening of a school in the local area alongside the teacher Hoxhë Kalla. Activities Elez Isufi was active against the Ottoman forces during the Albanian uprisings against the Ottoman Empire.
