Brian Ratcliffe Eley Edward Winter's Chess Noteitem 9034 citing Brian Eley interview conducted for (6 July 1946 – 6 April 2022) is a former British Chess Champion. He was wanted by the British police on suspicion of sexual offences against underage boys, and had been a fugitive from justice since 1991. Chess Brian Eley belonged to the wave of talented chess masters who came to the fore in Britain in the 1970s, after the dominance of Jonathan Penrose ended—a group that included Raymond Keene, William Hartston, George Botterill, Robert Bellin and others. He took part in domestic chess tournaments, was a chess coach and gave simultaneous exhibitions. For a period around 1971, he wrote an infrequent chess column in the weekly '' Morning Telegraph'' of Sheffield. Robin Eley (born in London, England in 1978) is an Australian hyperrealist painter. Personal life Eley was born to an Australian father and Chinese mother. In 1981 his family migrated to Australia where he completed his secondary education at Pembroke School. In 1997 he moved to the United States where he would attend Westmont College, captaining the basketball team and earning a bachelor of arts degree, majoring in fine art in 2001. Monroe Eley (April 17, 1949 – May 2, 2019) was a former running back who played in the Canadian Football League (CFL) and the National Football League (NFL). Having played his college football with Arizona State University, Eley was not drafted by the NFL, so he headed north to play with the British Columbia Lions. In his first year, 1972, he rushed for 517 yards and led the West Conference with 1033 kickoff return yards. His totals fell in 1973, to 373 rushing yards, as he played behind 1000 rusher Johnny Musso. The next season Musso was injured and Eley had his best year, racking up 1176 yards. His fellow running back, Lou Harris also rushed for 1239 yards, giving the Lions one of the most productive backfields in CFL history. Charles Ryves Maxwell Eley (16 September 1902 – 15 January 1983) was a British rower who competed in the 1924 Summer Olympics, winning a gold medal with the British coxless four. Family Eley was born in Samford, Suffolk, the eldest of four sons of Charles Cuthbert Eley, a barrister and noted gardener, and Ethel Maxwell Ryves. His great-grandfather co-founded the Eley Brothers company. Maxwell was the older brother of banker Sir Geoffrey Eley. Bridget Katharine Cracroft-Eley CVO JP (29 October 1933 – 29 August 2008) was a British secretary, farmer and magistrate. Born in Lincolnshire, she was the daughter of Lieutenant-Colonel Sir Weston Cracroft-Amcotts and his wife Rhona Clifton-Brown, daughter of Edward Clifton-Brown. In 1995, she received an honorary doctorate from De Montfort University and in 2003 from the University of Lincoln. Cracroft-Eley was appointed High Sheriff of Lincolnshire for 1989 and served as justice of the peace of that county. She was appointed the first female Lord Lieutenant of Lincolnshire in 1995, an office she held until her death. In 1997, she became High Steward of Lincoln Cathedral. On 31 October 1959, she married Robert Peel Charles Eley (1931-1996), son of Charles Ryves Maxwell Eley. They had two children, one son and one daughter.
