Elena Damiani
Elena Damiani (born 1979) is a Peruvian visual artist, known for sculpture, collage, installation art, video, and photography. Her work explores cartography, geology, time, space, and archaeology. Damiani lives in Lima, and previously lived in London, and Copenhagen. Biography Elena Damiani was born in 1979, in Lima, Peru, and she was also raised in Lima. Damiani attended architecture classes from 1997 to 1999 at the Peruvian University of Applied Sciences in Lima. She transferred to the Escuela Superior de Bellas Artes Corriente Alterna in Lima, where she graduated with a B.A. degree in 2005. She continued her studies at Goldsmiths, University of London, and graduated with a M.F.A. degree in 2010. At Goldsmiths, she studied under Gerard Hemsworth and Suhail Malik. Documenta
Documenta (often stylized documenta) is an Art exhibition, exhibition of contemporary art which takes place every five years in Kassel, Germany. Documenta was founded by artist, teacher and curator Arnold Bode in 1955 as part of the Bundesgartenschau (Federal Horticultural Show) which took place in Kassel at that time. It was an attempt to bring Germany up to speed with modern art, both banishing and repressing the cultural darkness of Nazism. This first Documenta featured many artists who are generally considered to have had a significant influence on modern art (such as Pablo Picasso, Picasso and Wassily Kandinsky, Kandinsky). The more recent editions of the event feature artists based across the world, but much of the art is Site-specific art, site-specific. The Museum of Contemporary Art of Lima (, MAC Lima) is an art museum dedicated to contemporary art located in Barranco District, Lima, Peru. The museum was designed by the Peruvian architect Frederick Cooper Llosa, and built on land donated by the Municipality of Barranco. It is run as a private non-profit organization. History The museum was preceded by the Institute of Contemporary Art (, IAC), which was itself inaugurated in 1955 in the former premises of the ''Galería de Lima'' in the jirón Ocoña. The Chrysler Museum of Art is an art museum on the border between downtown and the Ghent district of Norfolk, Virginia. The museum was founded in 1933 as the Norfolk Museum of Arts and Sciences. Museo Amparo
The Museo Amparo, located in the historic center of Puebla City, is one of the most important historical museums in Mexico. It was inaugurated in 1991 and sponsored by the Amparo Foundation, which was founded in 1979 by Manuel Espinoza Yglesias in honor of his wife. The museum is housed in two colonial-era buildings that date from the 17th and 18th centuries, which were popularly known as the Hospitalario. One of the buildings was the Hospital de Nuestra Señora y San Juan de Letrán founded in 1534. This building was made into a college for women by Bishop Juan de Palafox y Mendoza in the middle of the 18th century, and remained so until the 20th century. The Lima Art Museum (Museo de Arte de Lima, MALI) is an art museum in Lima, Peru. The museum is located in the Palacio de la Exposición. The museum was inaugurated in 1961. Museo Rufino Tamayo is a public contemporary art museum located in Mexico City's Chapultepec Park, that produces contemporary art exhibitions, using its collection of modern and contemporary art, as well as artworks from the collection of its founder, the artist Rufino Tamayo.
