Lucille Silvia Derbez Amézquita, better known as Silvia Derbez (March 8, 1932 – April 6, 2002) was a Mexican film and television actress. She was the lead actress in the first telenovela produced in Mexico, ''Senda Prohibida''. Biography Derbez was born in San Luis Potosí, Mexico on March 8, 1932. She is the daughter of French businessman Marcel Derbez Gilly and María de la Luz Amézquita, a Mexican housewife. As a young child, she studied dance, and then began performing in dance theater. At age 13, she began to learn acting with Seki Sano. Her first participation in film was as an extra in the 1948 film ''Tarzan and the Mermaids''. She debuted in Mexican film in the 1947 film '' La Novia del Mar'' (''The Bride of the Sea''). Telesistema Mexicano was the predecessor of Televisa. Telesistema Mexicano was a television alliance made up of the independently owned television flagship stations XEW-TV, XEW Canal 2, XHTV-TV, XHTV Canal 4, and XHGC-TV, XHGC Canal 5 in Mexico, Distrito Federal. Valentín Pimstein Weiner (9 August 1925 – 27 June 2017) was a Chilean Television producer, producer of telenovelas. Biography Pimstein was the seventh child of nine in a Belarusian Jewish family (from Minsk), which owns a glass shop in Barrio Brasil in Santiago. His fondness for the romantic and melodramatic stories born under the eaves of his mother, a frequent consumer of Mexican films and soap operas, and developed in parallel with his interest in theater. After fulfilling adulthood, Pimstein decided to leave his native country in search of adventure. He came to Mexico, where he became assistant director of a film studio assistant by day and a nightclub. There, he met Emilio Azcárraga Milmo, at that time owner of Telesistema Mexicano. Pimstein died in Chile on June 27, 2017.
