Elemér Gergátz
Elemér Gergátz (6 May 1942 – 19 June 2019) was a Hungary, Hungarian veterinarian and politician, who served as Minister of Agriculture of Hungary, Minister of Agriculture between 1991 and 1993. During his ministership he tried to compensate farmers and agrarian workers as a result subdivided land structure formed which the main cause of difficulties of the Hungarian agriculture. The coalition between the Hungarian Democratic Forum (MDF) and the Independent Smallholders, Agrarian Workers and Civic Party broke up in 1992. Gergátz wanted to stay in the government so he was excluded from the party. Soon after he joined to the United Smallholders' Party (EKGP). Gergátz died on 19 June 2019, at the age of 77. The minister of agriculture of Hungary () is a member of the Government of Hungary, Hungarian cabinet and the head of the Ministry of Rural Development (Hungary), Ministry of Agriculture. Ferenc József Nagy
Ferenc József Nagy (22 April 1923 – 14 May 2019) was a Hungarian agrarian engineer and politician, who served as Minister of Agriculture between 1990 and 1991. After that he was appointed minister without portfolio, he also held this position in the cabinet of Péter Boross until 1994. Nagy was the chairman of the Independent Smallholders, Agrarian Workers and Civic Party for a short time. Professional life Ferenc József Nagy was born into an affluent peasant family in Kisharsány, Baranya County on 22 April 1923. His Calvinist parents, Ferenc Nagy (1890–1939) and Ilona Kovács (1896–1980) were farming on 47 acres. He had a sister, Ilona (1920–1980). Ferenc József Nagy married Erzsébet Bobár in 1951. They had three children: Ferenc (b. 1952), Piroska (b. 1953) and Attila (b. 1957). János Szabó (Minister Of Agriculture)
János Szabó (29 October 1937 – 25 February 2021) was a Hungarian jurist and politician, who served as Minister of Agriculture between 1993 and 1994. Career János Szabó was born in Tápiószentmárton in 1937, as the only child of farmer József Szabó and Margit Mester. His father was a prisoner of war in the Soviet Union from January 1945 to July 1947. János attended elementary school in his birthplace. He finished his secondary studies at the Kossuth Lajos Gymnasium in Cegléd in 1956. He earned a degree in law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Szeged (SZTE) in 1960. He worked for the Military Prosecutor's Office of Debrecen and Szeged, then for the Council of Csongrád County between 1960 and 1965. Independent Smallholders, Agrarian Workers And Civic Party
The Independent Smallholders, Agrarian Workers and Civic Party (), known mostly by its acronym FKgP or its shortened form Independent Smallholders' Party (), is a political party in Budapest, Hungary. During its existence, the party participated in the establishment of Hungarian democracy after World War II and the Third Republic. After the change of regime, it participated in the government for two terms (1990–1994 and 1998–2002). Since the 2002 parliamentary elections, the party has not won any seats in the parliament. Index mentioned the FKgP among the fake parties, as it received fewer votes than it collected recommendations. Liquidation proceedings were initiated against the party in 2021. The United Historical Smallholders and Civic Party (, ), known mostly by its acronym EKGP or its shortened form United Smallholders' Party (), was an agrarianist political party in Hungary, after having several MPs and cabinet members left the Independent Smallholders, Agrarian Workers and Civic Party (FKGP) to continue to support the conservative cabinet of József Antall. History Following the decision of FKGP party leader József Torgyán, who withdrew his party's support from the Antall cabinet, which was composed of three parties ( MDF, FKGP and KDNP), the parliamentary caucus of the FKGP split into two groups on 24 February 1992. The Hungarian Democratic Forum (, , MDF) was a centre-right political party in Hungary. It had a Hungarian nationalist, national-conservative, Christian-democratic ideology. The party was represented continuously in the National Assembly from the restoration of democracy in 1990 until 2010. It was dissolved on 8 April 2011.
