Elbrus Allahverdiyev
Elbrus Allahverdiyev () (27 September 1958, Ganja, Azerbaijan SSR – 6 June 1993, Şelli Agdam, Azerbaijan Republic) — was the military serviceman of Azerbaijan Armed Forces, warrior during the First Nagorno-Karabakh War and National Hero of Azerbaijan. Early life and education Allahverdiyev was born in worker family on 27 September 1958 in Ganja, Azerbaijan SSR. In 1976, he completed his secondary education in Ganja. He had served in the Soviet Army during 1976–1978. In 1990, he graduated from Sergo Ordzhonikidze Agriculture Institute. He had lived in Vladikavkaz for few years. Family He was married. Vladikavkaz, formerly known as Ordzhonikidze () or Dzaudzhikau (), is the capital city of North Ossetia–Alania, Russia. The National Hero of Azerbaijan () is the highest Hero (title), national title in the Republic of Azerbaijan. The title was named on 25 March 1992, and the "Qizil Ulduz" Medal awarded as a sign of receiving this title was established by a separate law on 15 July 1992. The law on the title has been in effect since 25 December 1995. It can only be awarded once to the same person. ''Ganja'' (, ; ) is one of the oldest and most commonly used synonyms for cannabis flower, specifically marijuana or hashish. Its usage in English dates to before 1689. Etymology ''Ganja'' is borrowed from Hindi (, IPA: �aːɲd͡ʒaː, a name for cannabis in the Indo-Aryan language that descended from an early form of Vedic Sanskrit. Aghdam
Aghdam () is a town and the nominal capital of the Aghdam District of Azerbaijan. Founded in the 18th century, it was granted city status in 1828 and grew considerably during the Soviet period. Aghdam lies from Stepanakert at the eastern foot of the Karabakh Range, on the outskirts of the Karabakh plain. Before the First Nagorno-Karabakh War, butter, wine and brandy, machine, and silk factories, and an airport and two railway stations functioned there. By 1989, Aghdam had 28,031 inhabitants. As Azerbaijani forces withdrew from Karabakh following political turmoil in the country during the war, Armenian forces captured Aghdam in July 1993.
