Elaine Bennett Research Prize
The Elaine Bennett Research Prize, awarded every other year by the American Economic Association, "recognizes and honors outstanding research in any field of economics by a woman not more than seven years beyond her Ph.D." First awarded in 1998, three of the first six winners of this prize have been the first three female winners of the John Bates Clark Medal. American Economic Association
The American Economic Association (AEA) is a learned society in the field of economics. It publishes several peer-reviewed journals acknowledged in business and academia. There are some 23,000 members. History and Constitution The AEA was established in 1885 in Saratoga Springs, New York by younger progressive economists trained in the German historical school, including Richard T. Ely, Edwin Robert Anderson Seligman and Katharine Coman, the only woman co-founder; since 1900 it has been under the control of academics. Emi Nakamura
Emi Nakamura is a Canadian-American economist. She is the Chancellor's Professor of Economics at University of California, Berkeley. Nakamura is a research associate and co-director of the Monetary Economics Program of the National Bureau of Economic Research, and a co-editor of the American Economic Review. Education Nakamura graduated summa cum laude from Princeton University with an A.B. in economics in 2001, completing a senior thesis titled "An Economy with Monetary Business Cycles" under the supervision of Michael Woodford. Rebecca Diamond (economist)
Rebecca Diamond is Class of 1988 Professor of Economics at Stanford Graduate School of Business and an associate editor of Econometrica and American Economic Journal: Applied Economics. Her research areas include urban economics and labor economics. In 2022, she was awarded the Elaine Bennett Research Prize. Melissa Dell
Melissa Dell (born ) is a Professor of Economics at Harvard University. Her research interests include development economics, political economy, and economic history. In 2014, the International Monetary Fund named Dell among the 25 Brightest Young Economists. In 2018, she was awarded the Elaine Bennett Research Prize and the Calvó-Armengol International Prize; The Economist also named her one of "the decade’s eight best young economists." Marina Halac (born November 17, 1979) is a professor of economics at Yale University.
