Elad Hasin
Elad Hasin ( he, אלעד חסין; born 20 May 1980) is an Israeli basketball head coach. He is currently the head coach of Ironi Ness Ziona of the Israeli Premier League. Coaching career In 2003, Hasin served as an assistant scout under coach John Calipari at the University of Memphis. In 2005, Hasin served as assistant coach for Maccabi Tel Aviv under Pini Gershon in the 2005–06 season and also spent the 2006–07 campaign as an assistant to Gershon, this time at Greek powerhouse Olympiacos. On 21 May 2010, Hasin was named Maccabi Haifa head coach, replacing Avi Ashkenazi. On 30 December 2010, Hasin parted ways with Maccabi Haifa. On 18 March 2013, Hasin was named Hapoel Holon head coach, replacing Lior Lubin. On 31 October 2014, Hasin was named Israeli League Coach of the Month for games played in October. The Israeli Basketball State Cup ( he, גביע המדינה בכדורסל) is the second most important professional basketball competition in Israel, after the Israeli Super League. It is the national federation cup of Israel. The tournament began in the 1955–56 season, and is run by the Israel Basketball Association. In the 21–22 season, the tournament format was changed so that only the first 8 teams at the end of the first rotation of the Israeli Basketball Premier League will compete. The quarter-final matches will be drawn between the teams in places 1-4 against 5-8 for a one-game elimination match. Liga Leumit (basketball)
Liga Leumit ( he, ליגה לאומית, lit. ''National League'') is the second tier level league of basketball competition in Israel. It is the league level that is below the first tier Israeli Premier League. League system The league contains 15 clubs that compete in a home-and-away round-robin. At the end of the season, the top eight clubs advance to the play-offs. The first round is played on a best-of-three basis. The four winning clubs advance to two best-of-five playoffs, the winners of which are promoted to the Super League. The two teams that finish at the bottom of the table are relegated to Liga Artzit. The 2014–2015 Israeli Basketball Super League, for sponsorships reasons known as Ligat Winner Basketball, was the 61st season of the Israeli Basketball Premier League. The season began on October 12, 2014 and ended on June 25, 2014. The season marked the first time since 1993 that Maccabi Tel Aviv did not reach the Finals, and the third time they failed to finish in either the first or second place. Pini Gershon
Pinhas "Pini" Gershon ( he, פנחס "פיני" גרשון, born 13 November 1951), is an Israeli former professional basketball player and coach. He won three top-level European-wide club championships as the head coach of Maccabi Tel Aviv. He won the FIBA SuproLeague championship in 2001, and the EuroLeague championship in 2004 and 2005. He was named the EuroLeague Coach of the Year in 2005. In 2008, he was named one of the 50 Greatest EuroLeague Contributors, as a coach. The Memphis Tigers men's basketball team represents the University of Memphis in NCAA Division I men's college basketball. The Tigers have competed in the American Athletic Conference since 2013. John Calipari
John Vincent Calipari (born February 10, 1959) is an American basketball coach. Since 2009, he has been the head coach of the University of Kentucky men's team, with whom he won the NCAA Championship in 2012. He has been named Naismith College Coach of the Year three times (in 1996, 2008 and 2015), and was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2015. He was previously the head coach at the University of Massachusetts from 1988 to 1996, the NBA's New Jersey Nets from 1996 to 1999 and the University of Memphis from 2000 to 2009, and was the head coach of the Dominican Republic national team in 2011 and 2012.
