El Supremo (wrestler)
Salvador Cuevas Ramírez (July 8, 1942 – May 3, 2010) was a Mexican ''Luchador'', or professional wrestler, known under the ring name El Supremo. Cuevas was originally an '' enmascarado'' (masked wrestler) but lost his mask in 1992 to Pierroth, Jr. Biography Salvador Cuevas was born and raised in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico, in 1942. As a teenager he began working out in various gyms, developing his body for bodybuilding competitions. He would later travel to Guadalajara, Mexico and then to Mexico City during his body building career. At some point in the 1960s or 1970s he won both the "Mr. Western Mexico" and the "Mr. Mexico" bodybuilding competitions. Antonio Peña
Antonio Hipolito Peña Herrada (June 13, 1951 – October 5, 2006) was a Mexican professional wrestling promoter who founded the Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA) promotion in 1992. Peña's promotion reached its height of popularity in the early 1990s prior to the 1994 downturn of the Mexican economy, but continues to operate. Peña's AAA is the promotion largely responsible for bringing the ''lucha libre'' style to the United States, with AAA wrestlers such as Rey Misterio Jr., Psicosis, La Parka, Konnan and others eventually competing for American promotions. Peña began his involvement in professional wrestling as an in-ring wrestler, or '' luchador'', working under various masks as El Genio, Espectro Jr., Kahoz, Espectro de Ultratumba, and Dalia Negra before retiring in 1986 to work in the promotional side of wrestling. The EMLL 52nd Anniversary Show () was supposed to be a professional wrestling major show event produced by Empresa Mexicana de Lucha Libre (EMLL, later renamed ''Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre'', CMLL) slated to take place on September 20, 1985, in Arena México in Mexico City, Mexico. But was canceled due to the Mexico City earthquake the day before. The event was supposed to commemorate the 52nd anniversary of EMLL, the oldest still active professional wrestling promotion in the world. Arturo Beristain (born September 5, 1949) is a Mexican retired professional wrestler, or ''Lucha Libre, Luchador'' in Spanish language, Spanish, who works as a wrestling trainer at the Mexican professional wrestling promotion Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre's (CMLL) gym in Mexico City, Mexico. Javier Esparza Coronado (born August 11, 1953) is a Mexican retired ''Luchador'', or professional wrestler, currently working as a match maker for Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL). Esparza is best known under the ring name Franco Columbo, a name he uses even after retiring from wrestling. Professional wrestling career Esparza was trained for his professional wrestling career by legendary Mexican wrestling trainer Diablo Velazco before making his debut in 1975 as "Franco Columbo". Due to Velazco's connections to Empresa Mexicana de Lucha Libre (EMLL), Mexico's largest and the world's oldest professional wrestling promotion, Columbo landed job with EMLL only a few years after making his debut. Lizmark
Juan Baños (December 18, 1950 – December 16, 2015) was a Mexican '' luchador enmascarado'', or masked professional wrestler better known by the ring name Lizmark. The name was taken from the German battleship Bismarck. He was a multiple-time champion, having held singles and tag team championships in both Empresa Mexicana de Lucha Libre / Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (EMLL/CMLL) and Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA). The NWA World Welterweight Championship () is an inactive professional wrestling championship governed by the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) and most recently promoted by NWA Mexico. The championship was originally created in 1946 by the Mexican promotion Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL). As with all professional wrestling championships, matches for the NWA World Welterweight Championship were not won or lost competitively but by a pre-planned ending to a match, with the outcome determined by the CMLL bookers and match makers.
