''El Mark'' is a B-side EP recording released by the band Glassjaw on September 2, 2005 exclusively on iTunes. It consists of two previously released UK B-Sides (from the " Cosmopolitan Bloodloss" single) and a new previously unreleased track, entitled "Oxycodone". The track "The Number No Good Things Come Of" features Daryl Palumbo as the only Glassjaw member, Ross Robinson plays piano and Shannon Larkin is on drums. It is also the last Glassjaw release to feature Todd Weinstock. Shannon Larkin
James Shannon Larkin (born April 24, 1967) is an American musician, best known as the former drummer of the rock band Godsmack. He replaced the band's previous drummer Tommy Stewart in June 2002, and played on six of their studio albums: '' Faceless'' (2003), '' IV'' (2006), '' The Oracle'' (2010), '' 1000hp'' (2014), ''When Legends Rise'' (2018), and ''Lighting Up the Sky'' (2023). At the time of his departure from the band in late 2024, Larkin was Godsmack's longest-serving drummer. Prior to Godsmack, Larkin was a member of Amen, Candlebox, Ugly Kid Joe, and Souls at Zero (formerly Wrathchild America). Career Larkin has been playing drums since the age of ten. Daryl Palumbo
Daryl Palumbo (born February 10, 1979) is an American musician, originally from Bellmore, New York. He is the frontman of the bands Glassjaw, Head Automatica and Color Film. As a youth he was a member of the Long Island straight edge band ''XbustedX.'' In 1993 he met guitarist Justin Beck, who would become his good friend. Together they formed Glassjaw. Cosmopolitan Bloodloss
"Cosmopolitan Bloodloss" is the lead single from Glassjaw's 2002 studio album, '' Worship and Tribute''. Two differing versions were released in the US and the UK. As with many Glassjaw songs, "Cosmopolitan Bloodloss" is lyrically ambiguous and oddly phrased. It mentions a nervous female and someone at an airport "addressing most littlest." It is widely speculated this song is written from the perspective of someone who is opposed to abortion, with Daryl Palumbo himself being pro-choice. Aiding the song's complexity are its many independent layers of guitar which help give it an aggressive and somewhat paranoid feel. Post-hardcore
Post-hardcore is a punk rock music genre that maintains the aggression and intensity of hardcore punk but emphasizes a greater degree of creative expression. Like the term " post-punk", the term "post-hardcore" has been applied to a broad constellation of groups. Initially taking inspiration from post-punk and noise rock, post-hardcore began in the 1980s with bands like Hüsker Dü and Minutemen. The genre expanded in the 1980s and 1990s with releases by bands from cities which had established hardcore scenes, such as Fugazi from Washington, D.C. as well as groups such as Big Black, Jawbox, Quicksand, and Shellac who stuck closer to post-hardcore's noise rock roots.
