El Manresà
El Manresà is a neighbourhood of Badalona, located next the sea in the north limit of city with Montgat. It belongs to district 1. During the 19th century appeared a small slum in the outskirts of Badalona by the sea and near to the municipality limit with Montgat. In fact, the name is first documented in 1827 in the cadastre and it comes from a masia of the area called Cal Manresà, which was demolished in 1968 with the construction of the C-31 highway. The neighbourhood has a low population. In 2015 it had 339 inhabitants. The growth is related with the near neighbourhood of Les Mallorquines of Montgat, however new inhabitants arrived in the 1950s as a result of an immigration process. Since the 1970s the neighborhood suffered a process of depopulation because of the establishment of and industrial area, and the neighbors organised themselves and created an association in aim to preserve the neighborhood. Montgat
Montgat () is a municipality in the ''comarca'' of the Maresme in Catalonia, Spain. It is situated on the coast between Badalona (Barcelonès) and El Masnou, to the north-east of Barcelona. Masia
A masia in Catalan (or and ) is a type of rural construction common to the east of Spain: Catalonia, Valencian Community, Aragon, Languedoc and Provence (in the south of France). The estate in which the masia is located is called a mas. They are often large but isolated structures, nearly always associated with a family farming or livestock operation. Through the ages, the materials used to construct masias varied, often determined by their location. In mountainous areas, rough stone was often used, except for doorways, windows and arches, where stone was worked. C-31 Highway (Spain)
C-31 or Eix Costaner is one of Catalonia's primary highways. It is the result of merging several sections of previously existing roads, '' autopistas'' and '' autovías'' after the 2004's renaming of primary highways managed by the Generalitat de Catalunya. According to this new denomination, the first number (C-31) indicates that is a southwest-northeast highway (parallel to the Mediterranean Sea coastline), while the second number (C-31) indicates that is the closest to the Mediterranean Sea. Dolors Sabater
Maria Dolors Sabater Puig (born 28 November 1960) is a Catalan teacher, social activist and politician from Spain. She was mayor of Badalona from 2015 to 2018, and elected to the Parliament of Catalonia in 2021. Career Sabater is a teacher with a focus on special needs education. Her brother Frederic has a lifelong intellectual disability, and she has been vocal for disability rights. In June 2015, Sabater became mayor of her hometown of Badalona, replacing People's Party incumbent Xavier García Albiol.
