El Manik
Emmanuel Ginting Manik or better known as El Manik (born in Bohorok, North Sumatera, Indonesia on 19 November 1949) is an Indonesian actor of Karo descent. Biography El Manik was born on 19 November 1949 in Bohorok, North Sumatra to an ethnic Batak Karo teacher. He graduated from Bohorok State Elementary School in 1962, then Taman Siswa Middle School in 1965 and Teachers' College in 1969, both in Binjai. After graduation, he moved to Surabaya and opened a photo studio. After passing a test to get into the Film and Music Institute of Jakarta, El Manik sold his equipment and moved to Jakarta. However, after discovering that he had been conned he lived as a vagrant behind the Ismail Marzuki Cultural Centre. In 1973, he received a bit part in ''Mereka Kembali'' (''They Return''), directed by Nawi Ismail; he received Rp.5,000 for his role. Bohorok
Bahorok or Bohorok is a district of Langkat Regency. Its capital is Bohorok town, and Bukit Lawang is a major local tourist attraction for viewing orangutans. The Bohorok river, which is a tributary of the Wampu River, joins the Wampu in the district. Teguh Karya
Teguh Karya (born Steve Liem Tjoan Hok; ; 22 September 1937 – 11 December 2001) was an Indonesian film director. Starting his entertainment career in theatre, he made his directorial debut with '' Wadjah Seorang Laki-Laki'', released three years later. He later directed numerous critically acclaimed films, including ''Cinta Pertama'', '' Badai Pasti Berlalu'', and ''November 1828''. In 2001 Karya died from complications from a 1998 stroke. Nurkurniati Aisyah Dewi (born 4 March 1970 in Jakarta, Indonesia), better known as Nia Dinata, is an Indonesian film director.
