El Biré
Al-Bireh, El Bire, Biré, El Bireh (Arabic: البيرة) or Birra (at the time of the Crusades) is a town in the Rashaya District, south-eastern portion of the Bekaa Governorate of the Republic of Lebanon. Al-Bireh is part of the Rashaya municipal district. It lies west of the road between Majdel Anjar and Rashaya. Its population is estimated to be 9000. It is a small Sunni Muslim town with two mosques and two schools. Geography The oldest part of the town lies on top of Jabal Arbi Mountains while the newer parts lie in the Wadi al-Taym valley and is referred to as Izza. Neighboring towns include Al-Rafid, Lebanon, Rafid, Kamed, Khirbet-Rouha, and Mdouckha. The town is located about 80 km from Beirut and 40 km from Damascus, Syria. Governorates Of Lebanon
Lebanon is divided into nine governorates (Arabic: ). Each governorate is headed by a governor (Arabic: ). All of the governorates except for Beirut Governorate, Beirut and Akkar Governorate, Akkar are divided into districts of Lebanon, districts, which are further subdivided into list of municipalities of Lebanon, municipalities. The newest governorate is Keserwan-Jbeil, which was gazetted on 7 September 2017 but whose first governor, Pauline Deeb, was not appointed until 2020. Khirbet-Rouha
Kherbet Rouha () is a town in the Rashaya District of Lebanon. It lies in the Bekaa Valley, about northwest of Mount Hermon. The town is known for having the largest mosque towers in Lebanon (tallest minaret: in height). People from Kherbet Rouha have migrated to many points around the world, mainly Canada, United States, Brazil, and UAE. In Canada, most families originating from Kherbet Rouha are represented in Edmonton, Alberta and Calgary, Alberta,.
