Ek Thi Rani Aisi Bhi
''Ek Thi Rani Aisi Bhi'' () is a 2017 Hindi language Biographical film, biopic directed by Gul Bahar Singh starring Hema Malini, who portrays Vijaya Raje Scindia. The film is based on Mridula Sinha's biography novel ''Rajpath se Lokhpath par'', and traces her journey from Palace to the public. Vinod Khanna is portrayed as Jivajirao Scindia of Gwalior. The film was completed in 2008 but its release was delayed for years. It eventually released in theatres on 21 April 2017, and premiered to television on Zee Classic on 6 May 2017. The film was shown in the 49th International Film Festival of India in Goa. Gul Bahar Singh is a six time National Film Awards, national award winning Indian Filmmaking, film-maker. He received first national award in 1986 for his documentary film, ''Anukaran''. Early life Singh was born in Pakur, Jharkhand in a Sikh family and he is the youngest child of his parents. He studied in Pakur, Kolkata, and Faridabad, after completing his graduation Singh self-trained himself to become a filmmaker. Career He started his career in 1980 with his first documentary "Weeds" on street children, which received very good response. Vijaya Raje Scindia
Vijaya Raje Scindia (born Lekha Divyeshwari Devi; 12 October 1919 – 25 January 2001), known popularly as the Rajmata Scindia, was an Indian politician and consort of the last ruling Maharaja of Gwalior, Jiwajirao Scindia, in British Raj. In later life, she was elected repeatedly to both houses of the Indian parliament. She was one of the founding members of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Mridula Sinha
Mridula Sinha (27 November 1942 – 18 November 2020) was an Indian writer and politician who served as Governor of Goa from August 2014 to October 2019. She was the first woman Governor of Goa. Mridula Sinha was also a former president of BJP Mahila Morcha. She was awarded India's fourth highest civilian award the Padma Shri posthumously in 2021.
