Eisenach Hauptbahnhof is the main station of the city of Eisenach in the German state of Thuringia. It is a transportation hub, located on the Thuringian Railway (Berlin Hauptbahnhof, Berlin/Dresden Hauptbahnhof, Dresden–) Halle (Saale) Hauptbahnhof, Halle–Bebra station, Bebra (–Frankfurt (Main) Hauptbahnhof, Frankfurt am Main) and at the Eisenach–Lichtenfels railway, Werra Railway (Eisenach–Meiningen–Eisfeld). Eisenach Hauptbahnhof (Hbf) is classified by Deutsche Bahn as a German railway station categories, category 3 station. Effectively 15 December 2024, alongside Halberstadt Hauptbahnhof, Deutsche Bahn has officially changed Eisenach's station name into Eisenach Hauptbahnhof. Eisenach
Eisenach () is a Town#Germany, town in Thuringia, Germany with 42,000 inhabitants, west of Erfurt, southeast of Kassel and northeast of Frankfurt. It is the main urban centre of western Thuringia, and bordering northeastern Hesse, Hessian regions, is near the former Inner German border. The Electorate of Hesse (), also known as Hesse-Kassel or Kurhessen, was the title used for the former Landgraviate of Hesse-Kassel after an 1803 reform where the Holy Roman Emperor elevated its ruler to the rank of Elector, thus giving him a vote in any future elections to the emperorship. When the Holy Roman Empire was abolished in 1806, William I, Elector of Hesse, chose to retain the title of Elector, even though there was no longer an Emperor to elect. Gerstungen is a Municipalities in Germany, municipality in the Wartburgkreis Districts of Germany, district of Thuringia, Germany. Gotha station is the main station of Gotha in the German state of Thuringia. It is served by InterCity trains and every two hours by Intercity-Express trains on the Thuringian Railway. Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach () was a German state, created as a duchy in 1809 by the merger of the Ernestine duchies of Saxe-Weimar and Saxe-Eisenach, which had been in personal union since 1741.
