Eirik Hundvin
Eirik Hundvin (born 8 February 1950), also known as Pytten, is a Norwegian producer, musician and recording engineer. He is widely known for producing and collaborating with influential acts in the Norwegian black metal scene, including Mayhem (band), Mayhem, Burzum, Immortal (band), Immortal, Emperor (Norwegian band), Emperor, Satyricon (band), Satyricon, Enslaved (band), Enslaved, Gorgoroth, Borknagar and Taake. Hundvin worked out of Grieghallen Lydstudio at the Grieg Hall in Bergen from 1989 to 2013, when it was closed. He has been a member of Tornerose and Blind Date as a bassist. Hundvin is the father of handball player and media personality Mia Hundvin. Burzum (album)
''Burzum'' is the debut studio album by the Norwegian black metal solo project Burzum. It was released in March 1992, through Euronymous's label Deathlike Silence Productions. Six of the songs were later re-recorded in 2010 and released on the album ''From the Depths of Darkness'', as Varg Vikernes was dissatisfied with some of the original vocals and production. Most reissues of the album have been released as ''Burzum/Aske'' which includes the '' Aske'' EP as the final three tracks. Only the ''Aske'' version of "A Lost Forgotten Sad Spirit" was included on this edition. Helheim (band)
Helheim is a Norwegian black metal band from Bergen, formed in 1992. History Helheim was founded in 1992 by V'gandr (bass, vocals) and H'grimnir (guitar, vocals), who added drummer Hrymr. The band began performing in local Bergen festivals, and in 1993, the band released their debut demo, ''Helheim'', distributed only within Norway. Soon after the release of their first demo, the band began working on new material, again as a three-piece after Nidhogg, who had joined the band briefly, left the band again. In mid-1994, the band's second demo, ''Nidr ok Nordr liggr Helvegr'', ("Netherwards and Northwards lies Helheim") was released, and caught the attention of German label Solistitium (now Millennium Music). Hades Almighty
Hades Almighty is a Norwegian black metal band from Bergen, formed in 1992 and originally named Hades. The band was forced to change their name to Hades Almighty in 1998, following complaints from an American band with a prior claim to the name. Hades Almighty has released four studio albums since their formation. History Hades was formed in Bergen, Norway in 1992 by ex- Immortal guitarist Jørn Inge Tunsberg and ex-Dark drummer Remi Andersen. They were later joined by vocalist and bassist Jan Otto "Janto" Garmannslund and second guitarist Wilhelm Nagel. Hades' first demo, ''Alone Walkyng'', was recorded in June 1993 at Grieghallen and produced by Pytten. In 1993, Tunsberg was convicted, along with fellow black metal musician Varg Vikernes (of Burzum), for the burning of a Norwegian church in Åsane, which led to a prison sentence. ''Pentagram'' is the debut studio album by Norwegian black metal band Gorgoroth, released in September 1994 by Embassy Productions. It followed the band's two demo cassettes, '' A Sorcery Written in Blood'' and '' Promo '94''. It was the only album to feature Samoth on bass and Goat Pervertor on drums. Reissues ''Pentagram'' was reissued eight times, four of those on CD: in 1996 by Malicious Records, in 1999 by Century Black in America, in 2005 as a remastered version on Season of Mist and in 2007 on Regain Records. ''Frost'' is the second studio album by Norwegian extreme metal band Enslaved. It was released in 1994, through Osmose Productions. This would be the last album to feature drummer Trym Torson before he joined Emperor. The band announced that they would play ''Frost'' in its entirety at the 2019 Decibel Metal & Beer Fest in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. ''De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas'' is the debut studio album by Norwegian black metal band Mayhem. Songwriting began in 1987, but due to the suicide of vocalist Per "Dead" Ohlin and the murder of guitarist Øystein "Euronymous" Aarseth, the album's release was delayed until May 1994. ''De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas'' is widely regarded one of the most influential black metal albums of all time. It is the band's only studio album to feature Aarseth and Varg "Count Grishnackh" Vikernes. Background and recording 1987–1991 Mayhem began writing songs for the album in late 1987 or early 1988, depending on the source. It was recorded in September 1992, but not released until April 1994, through Misanthropy Records and Varg Vikernes' own record label, Cymophane Productions. Background Varg Vikernes recorded the first four Burzum albums between January 1992 and March 1993 at the Grieg Hall in Bergen. However, the releases were spread out, with many months between the recording and the release of each album. ''Vikingligr Veldi'' (mistaken Old Norse intended to mean roughly ''Viking-like Dominion'' or ''Vikingly Power'') is the debut studio album by Norwegian extreme metal band Enslaved. It was released in 1994, through Deathlike Silence Productions, the record label run by Euronymous, who was murdered before the album's release. The album is dedicated to him. ''Vikingligr Veldi'' is an Old Norse concept album with lyrics mainly in Icelandic, with the exception of "Heimdallr" in Old Norwegian. Former Old Funeral bassist Thorlak Sigvaldason helped the band translate the Norwegian lyrics into Icelandic. The album's cover features the Anglo-Saxon helmet uncovered at the Sutton Hoo site in England, widely identified with the 7th-century king Rædwald of East Anglia. ''In the Nightside Eclipse'' is the debut studio album by Norwegian black metal band Emperor, released in 1994 through Candlelight Records. It was their only album to feature drummer Faust and one-time bassist Tchort. Considered a landmark in the black metal scene, the album has been ranked by critics as one of the most influential albums of the genre. It also contains some of Emperor's best known tracks, "I Am the Black Wizards" and "Inno a Satana". ''Pure Holocaust'' is the second album by Norwegian black metal band Immortal. It was released on November 1, 1993, on Osmose Productions. It is generally faster sounding than its predecessor ''Diabolical Fullmoon Mysticism''. The lyrics focus mainly on ice, snow, and fantasy landscapes. The album was released as a standard CD, as a limited LP on Osmose Productions (which was reissued in 2005), and as a limited edition picture disc in 1998. Critical reception Marc van der Pol of ''Allmusic'' approved: "On ''Pure Holocaust'', dark, technically advanced, powerful, and challenging riffs propel the songs forward through a myriad of blasting drumbeats.
