Einar Westye Egeberg, Jr.
Einar Westye Egeberg Jr. (24 February 1883 – 1946) was a Norwegian businessperson. He was born in Kristiania. After middle school he attended the Öffentlichen Handelslehranstalt in Leipzig from 1899 to 1902. He worked with timber trade in London from 1902 to 1904 and studied languages in France from 1906 to 1907. In 1911 he became a manager and co-owner in the family company Westye Egeberg & Co. The company was founded by Westye Egeberg (1770–1830) in 1802, and had been passed down through the generations. Egeberg also took over the estates Stormo and Tannæs in Nord-Odal in 1930. His interests were skiing and hunting. He was a member of the gentlemen's club SK Fram from 1912 to 1942. He died in 1946, and was buried at Vestre gravlund. Oslo
Oslo ( , , or ; sma, Oslove) is the capital and most populous city of Norway. It constitutes both a county and a municipality. The municipality of Oslo had a population of in 2022, while the city's greater urban area had a population of in 2019, and the metropolitan area had an estimated population of in 2021. During the Viking Age the area was part of Viken. Vestre Gravlund
Vestre Gravlund is a cemetery in the Frogner borough of Oslo, Norway. It is located next to the Borgen metro station. At , it is the largest cemetery in Norway. It was inaugurated in September 1902 and also contains a crematorium (''Vestre krematorium'') and chapel (''Gravkapellet''). The grave chapel was constructed in granite and clay stone and was designed by architect Alfred Christian Dahl (1857–1940). It was built in 1900 and consecrated in 1902. In the foundation wall, it has stained glass that was designed by artist Oddmund Kristiansen (1920–1997) in 1970. ''Hvem er hvem?'' ( en, Who is Who?) was a Norwegian book series, presenting facts about notable persons from Norway. The first edition was issued in 1912, and the 14th edition came in 1994. In the 2008 edition, edited by Knut Olav Åmås, one thousand persons were selected for presentation. Hans Christian Henriksen
Hans Christian Henriksen (25 June 1909 – 26 August 1983) was a Norwegian businessperson. He was born in Kristiania as a son of Gustav Severin Henriksen and Lisken Dall. In 1934 he married Agnes Cecilie Egeberg, a daughter of Einar Westye Egeberg, Jr. and Kitty Parr. He became a student in 1927 and graduated from the University of Neuchâtel in 1931 with a degree in economics. He was hired in the Norwegian America Line in 1933 and worked as director of the Norwegian America Line Agency Inc in New York from 1935 to 1939. He returned to Norway as office manager in 1939, and became vice chief executive in 1947. He was then the chief executive officer from 1948 to 1973. He chaired the Oslo Stock Exchange Committee from 1956 to 1970 and the Norwegian Society for Sea Rescue from 1956 to 1961. SK Fram (Oslo)
Skiklubben Fram was a Norwegian skiing club, based in Oslo but with its sporting facilities in Vestre Aker—and from 1902 to 1923 in Oppland. Fram was founded in 1889, and after a down period around 1900 it was refurbished as an exclusive gentlemen's social club in a skiing setting. Early years, 1889–c.1900 The club was founded on 24 November 1889 at Framnæs near Skillebekk, whence the Fearnley family had moved here the same year. The club was named after the property and is thus one of very few Norwegian sports clubs named Fram not to derive its name from Nansen's vessel. The founders were ten young boys; Harald Andresen, N.
