Einar Hope
Einar Hope (born 13 July 1937) is a Norwegian economist. He was born in Masfjorden. Having graduated as siviløkonom, he was employed at the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration from 1978 to 1990, before being CEO of the Foundation for Research in Economics and Business Administration from 1991 to 1995. From 1995 to 1999 he served as director of the Norwegian Competition Authority. From 1999 to 2005 he was professor of energy economics at the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration. Masfjorden
Masfjorden is a municipality in the central part of Vestland county in Norway. The municipality is located in the Nordhordland district of the county. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Masfjordnes. Other villages in the municipality include Frøyset, Hosteland, Matre, and Solheim. The municipality is centered on the Masfjorden which almost divides the municipality completely into a north side and a south side. A cable ferry crosses the fjord from Masfjordnes to Duesund in the western part of the municipality. The Matre Hydroelectric Power Station is located in the eastern part of the municipality. The municipality is the 195th largest by area out of the 356 municipalities in Norway. Masfjorden is the 297th most populous municipality in Norway with a population of 1,629. Siviløkonom
Siviløkonom (literally "civil economist") is an academic degree issued within the field of business administration. It consists of a 3 year bachelor's degree followed by a two years masters degree and is also a professional title in Norway (with corresponding titles in Denmark and Sweden, see below under "See also"), obtained after the total of 5 years of studies. The title is protected and can only be used by persons having met certain qualifications as directed by the Norwegian Ministry of Education and Research. It is mainly offered by nine institutions after the completion of a Master of Science in Business Administration. Bjarne Johannes Hope (30 March 1944 - 30 June 2006) was a Norwegian civil servant. He was born in Masfjorden. Having graduated from the Norwegian Institute of Technology in 1968 as siv.ing., he worked as a consultant from 1972. From 1995 to his death in 2006 he served as director of the Norwegian Tax Administration.
