Einar-Fredrik Ofstad
Einar-Fredrik Ofstad (6 May 1916 – 15 February 1998) was a Norwegian diplomat. He was born in Rjukan, and after taking the examen artium he studied at Cambridge University for a period and participated as an officer in the Norwegian Campaign near Voss in 1940, before graduating with the cand.jur. degree in law in 1941. He was a police superintendent in Bergen from 1941 to 1942, worked in the National Insurance Administration from 1942 to 1943 at the same time as he participated in the Norwegian resistance to German occupation. He had to flee to Sweden in 1944, and continued to England where he served in the Norwegian High Command and the Ministry of Defence-in-exile. He was decorated with the Defence Medal 1940–1945. He was hired in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1946. Rjukan
Rjukan () is a town and the administrative centre of Tinn municipality in Telemark, Norway. It is situated in Vestfjorddalen, between Møsvatn and Lake Tinn, and got its name after Rjukan Falls west of the town. The Tinn municipality council granted township status for Rjukan in 1996. The town has 3,386 inhabitants (January 2007). History Rjukan was formerly a significant industrial centre in Telemark, and the town was established between 1905 and 1916, when Norsk Hydro started saltpetre (fertilizer) production there. Rjukan was chosen because Rjukan Falls, a 104-metre waterfall, provided easy means of generating large quantities of electricity. The man with the idea to use the Rjukan falls was Sam Eyde, the founder of Hydro. Rolf Trygve Busch (15 November 1920 – 18 December 2016) was a Norwegian diplomat and ambassador. Biography He was born at Spydeberg in Østfold, Norway. He was the son of Aksel Busch (1887-1948) and Alette Tunby (1885-1977). He was awarded his cand.jur. degree from the University of Oslo in 1946. He was hired in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1947, and was promoted to assistant secretary in 1960 and sub-director in 1963. Søren Christian Sommerfelt (9 May 1916 – 14 December 2003) was a Norwegian diplomat. He was born in Kristiania as a son of Søren Christian Sommerfelt (1877–1965) and Sigrid Nicolaysen (1879–1976). He was a great-grandson of Søren Christian Sommerfelt and grandnephew of Adam Hiorth, Halfdan, Christian and Karl Linné Sommerfelt. In 1947 he married Frances Bull Ely.
