Egyptian Friendship Cup
Egyptian Friendship Cup, is an Egyptian official football tournament. It was organized by the Egyptian Ministry of Youth and Sport and the Egyptian Football Association. The tournament was held once in 1986. It was launched for fundraising for the Egyptian external debt minimization program. The final match took place in the Cairo Stadium. Overview The tournament was organized by the Egyptian higher Council for youth and sports (Ministry of Youth and Sport) in coordination with the Egyptian Football Association. It was held once in 1986. Zamalek won the Egyptian Friendship Cup after defeating Al Ahly by a score of 1–0, Zamalek's striker Gamal Abdel-Hamid scored the single winning goal in Ahmed Shobair's net in the 82nd minute. "The Black Deer", Ibrahim Youssef was the one who raised the cup as he was Zamalek's captain in 1986. The Egypt Cup (also known as the Egyptian FA Cup and formerly as the King Farouk Cup) is the main knockout football cup competition in Egypt. It is the oldest club competition in Africa. The first team to win the trophy was Zamalek in 1922. The Egyptian Football Association () is the governing body of association football in Egypt. A member of FIFA since 1923 and a founding member of the CAF, the EFA has jurisdiction over the Egyptian football league system and is responsible for the men's and women's national teams. The Cairo International Stadium (), formerly known as Nasser Stadium, is an Olympic-standard, multi-use stadium with an all-seated capacity of 75,000. Gamal Abdel-Hamid
Gamal Abdel-Hamid (; born 24 November 1957) is an Egyptian football manager and former footballer who played as a forward. He played for Zamalek and the Egypt national football team. He is one of the all-time top scorers of the Egyptian Premier League. He is regarded as one of the best forwards in the history of African football. Abdel-Hamid was a part of the team that won the 1986 African Cup of Nations. He captained Egypt at the 1990 World Cup. He started his professional career in Al Ahly, however, after his injury, he signed for Zamalek in a highly publicized move in 1983. He spent the rest of his career with in the White Castle. Ahmed Shobair
Ahmed Abdelaziz Shobeir (; born 28 September 1960) is former Egyptian goalkeeper who played for Al Ahly club & Egypt national football team. He is a former vice-president of the Egyptian Football Association, and a previous official of Egyptian national Olympic team. He became notorious for his appearance with his national team in the 1990 FIFA World Cup, especially in the goalless draw against the Irish team, in which his teammates constantly passed the ball back to him as a deliberate time-wasting tactic, resulting in a dour, emotionless match. This match is said to be the catalyst for the implementation of the back-pass rule following the tournament. Ibrahim Youssef Awadallah Mohamed (; 1 January 1959 – 10 July 2013), nicknamed "Black Deer الغزال الاسمر", was an Egyptian football executive, former football player and police officer. He spent all of his football career with Zamalek. He also played for the Egypt national football team. Youssef won the Egyptian footballer of the year for several times. He was chosen the best Libero in 1984 African Cup of Nations. He finished 2nd in the African footballer of the year by France Football in 1984, and 3rd in 1985. Egyptian Super Cup
The Egyptian Super Cup is Football in Egypt, Egyptian football's annual match contested between the champions of the Egyptian Premier League season and the holders of the Egypt Cup. If the Egyptian Premier League champions also won the Egypt Cup then the cup runners-up provide the opposition. The competition was founded in 2001, the first team to win the trophy was Zamalek SC.
